Rug Pad Works Great on Wooden Floor
One side of the pad has a rubbery texture and sits in the wooden floor and does not move at all. The other, softer side adheres to the bottom of the rug and nothing moves! Perfect rug pad.

Happy 4.5 Rating
Initially I was disappointed not to find a rug pad the size of my runner (2.5’ X 9.5’), however I do understand from a manufacturing perspective it’s better to offer a size larger to accommodate more sizes. Consequently, I had to cut the pad 6” off the width & length. I’m certain the length I cut isn’t a perfect straight line, the rug covers the pad, so not a problem. The pad itself has a rough side to grip the rug and a rubber side to grip the floor. Thus far the pad has stayed in place, however, the rug somehow moves a bit off the pad after a few days of walking on it. I’m not sure the exact cause of the movement, but it hasn’t been a huge issue. The remnant pieces that were cut off the pad were used on some smaller throw rugs, so my disappointment in having to cut the pad actually turned into a benefit that we’ve been happy with. Hence the 4.5 rating

Pandemic Office Update: Thinnest rug pad for hardwood that I could find
This rug pad is 1/16th" thick and is being used under an indoor/outdoor rug in my home office. I previously had a thin wool rug that I loved in my office, but it became rumpled and misshapen where the rolling office chair was placed. I went without a rug for a while, but could see little blemishes in our relatively new white oak floors. So far so good with a few days in on new rug and rug pad. Having the chair roll without rumpling the rug was key, and a thin rug pad to protect the floor (vs. cushioning for soft feel) was primary goal. So the softness rating didn't really apply. The rug pad was slightly larger than the rug. I didn't measure either rug or pad, but pad was easy to trim with sharp utility scissors. The rubber side was placed (according to directions) onto the floor with the felt gripper side up to hold the rug. I was really looking to have felt vs. rubber directly on the hardwood after trying to learn what was best option, and is what I did in the bedrooms that have the same hardwood floors. If the rubber comes off the pad and sticks to floor I will be VERY disappointed, as the goal is to take care of the hardwood floor.

These nonslip pads work well.
These non-slip rug pads are thin enough that it is less likely someone would trip over the rug. I needed to trim the 4' round because it was too big for my 4' round rug, and I trimmed the 5' round to accommodate my 3x5 oval rug. It's easy enough to do. I like that it's two-sided... rubber on one side and felt on the other. The rug definitely stays in place.

Rug stays in place
Rug stays in place now. The only thing is I wish they had a small note to which side goes on the ground versus which side goes on the rug. But a quick google search and youtube video solved that.

Good, but 1/8 is significantly better than 1/16
6 months ago I ordered this rug pad, but I didn’t know until I ordered another that originally they sent the wrong pad. At the time I thought it was just color variation because of the recycled content, because the first one doesn’t look like the picture. This new one looks exactly like the picture, and it works well. However, I think the first is 1/8 and still quite thin, but that little bit does make a difference in padding and the 1/8 is still is very low profile. I think in the future I would go with 1/8 minimum. It’s a good value for the money, and it’s hard to beat when I can use prime shipping, but little things like it not being square make me prefer the name brand pads I used in the past. For the back door and laundry room, it’s a great pad. I’d probably upgrade to something else for my living room or for a rug that has a hard time staying in place.

Great low profile pad
Holds soft, unstructured carpet over hardwood floor very well.
