Great targets and VERY high quality steel!
VERY nice, high quality steel targets! These are legit AR500 rated hardened steel and not a knockoff junk. A pistol round doesn't do anything more than knock the paint off. Even though they say not to, my buddy and I shoot these with 5.56 rounds (both 62gr and 55gr) at ranges up to around 20-25 yards away. We have them either angled down or on swinging holders so we don't get ricochets or spalling blowing back. It all blows straight down into the ground. We always have all our safety gear on anyways. But even at those ranges with full power 5.56 rounds it doesn't do anything but leave the tiniest little dings in it. No craters or big pock marks. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future!

Great steel targets
These are great quality targets that really take abuse. There is nothing greater than the audible feedback of a steel target. I keep a can of bright orange paint handy and give them a quick coat before each session. They have taken thousands of rounds of 5.56 and 7.62 with negligible damage. Make sure to properly secure them as the shrapnel will destroy most mounting hardware. Ropes don't last long, chains are better, but carriage bolts with low profile heads are best.

WORTH EVERY PENNY I SPENT
I ordered these a few weeks ago (April of 2018) along with three 8' steel gongs, and three steel Target hanger (T-Post). Was extremely excited to get them out to my local range and try them out. My intended use is for pistol caliber and maybe an occasional .223 and .308.Everything assembled quite easily and the target hangers worked well with the T-Posts i purchased from Home Depot for about $4 a piece. I shot my 9mm pistol and a Pistol Caliber Carbine at various distances. The Target Hangers which I purchased on Amazon are quality items from DIRE SYSTEMS worked great also. I purchased the Ar500 steel silhouettes, gong, and steel target hangers after reading several good reviews.Affordable and easy to assemble I couldn't be more please with the quality and price I paid for each of these items. the Two Ar500 silhouettes 12x20 x3/8 were a great addition to my tactical pistol training program!

These are a STEAL at the current price! 9-1-2019
These are top quality, REAL AR500 steel targets. I was a bit skeptical because of the price, $112 delivered! They are shipped powder coated which is a nice touch and saves me from having to spray on a base coat to prevent rust.I shot them with 6.8 SPC, 5.56, 9mm and .22. None of these rounds created any divots at all. NOTHING.I hung them using 2 carriage bolts which allow them to hang at a slight top-forward angle to disperse the spalling/bullet to the ground. I do not know if that method of hanging the targets would change the loudness of the target being hit or not. I could hear the sound of the targets getting hit just fine, even better with electronic ears.I shot them with the rifles from 75-125 yards away, closer than the listed minimum distances, yet there was no damage to the targets. 9mm and .22 pistols no damage as you would expect. These are as good or better than any target out there.Buy these before they realize that they way under-priced this pair of targets!

Good targets for my backyard range.
These work out really well for my backyard range. They hold up very well to handgun ammo down to 30 ft. I did tempt fate a little and tried to shoot them with my 5.56 AR15 at about 80 yards, and I did dimple them a little. They don't recommend these for rifles at anything less than 100 yards, so I have no room to complain at this point. It's really a pretty good deal, comparably speaking, and if you do any defensive pistol drills, they work out great.

Great for pistol, be careful with rifle.
These are good targets especially for the money. I bought them mainly for close range pistol shooting and for that purpose I recommend them highly, but when I used them for rifle (.223 Rem) at 100yd and 200yd, I did see some light pitting, even with soft point bullets. I actually had a pea sized chunk taken out on an edge hit as well. So be careful when using these with rifle rounds.

Neatly cut steel plates , painted a nice bright white . No damage from FMJ pistol at close range .
These are the cleanest cut and painted steel gong plates I've seen .I haven't put them to any harsh test yet , but even very close range FMJ pistol (not recommended for safety reasons) failed to damage this steel .I'd say it's the real deal !Always angle mount your plates to ricochet your bullets safely into the ground . Be safe rather than sorry !

Poor Quality Assurance AR500 steel?
I have several Ar500 and Ar550 steel targets on my range. The steel in this target is not Ar500. Steel Hardness in this target apparently is of a value much softer. Example; 270 hunting bullet passes completely through at 100 yds. Still using it on the range but moved out to 300 yds + to prevent bullet penetration. It’s most likely an exception due to a failure in QA. I never returned the targets but subsequently never used this brand again.
