Digital Village Rocks & Great Lens
I originally placed an order with this lens to a different buyer, who even after 4 days, did nothing to fulfill it. Digital Villiage then picked the order up on short notice, and had it on its way, same day. It was well packaged, and the lens arrived in perfect shape. As for the lens itself, I'm very impressed with its performance. In my experience, the stabe is solid, and image sharpness is exceptional. Focusing is fast - I've no trouble capturing small birds in thick foliage. While it occasionally doesn't nail focus in lower light, or low contrast situations, the keeper rate of images is better than I could have wished for. Most of my photography is shooting on the fly while hiking in dense forest or thick marsh. Prior to making a decision on this 400mm lens, I was considering a 600mm. As it turns out, I'm glad I went with the shorter - its perfect for me, in the environment I shoot in. The image quality is very good, and this allows me to crop without issue on those shots that I'd have preffered yo be a little closer to. The lens exceeds my expectations for a product in its price range.

Birding Lens Gold.
I'm a birder and I've had exceptional results with this lens. It's a big lens, and even though I had read the specs my mind wasn't fully prepared for just how big... compare to Canon 75-300mm, and that's without the lens hood. Nonetheless it's light enough to carry afield and shoot without a tripod. I have it mounted on an EOS Rebel T6, and while I was initially shooting a bit dark I've managed to fine tune things to get outstanding shots, even in imperfect light. A camera with a greater range of ISO speeds shouldn't have any problem. The optical balance on this is immaculate and keeps the clean shots coming under any conditions. Example photo 1, The snowy egret was imaged at what I estimate to be 30 yards, in late-day light coming between clouds. Example 2 with the scissors involved a dim indoor setting at a painfully slow 1/8 of a second, and it's CRISP. Focuses blisteringly fast in short range (1.6-6m) mode and pretty dang fast in long range (6-infinity). Can be sluggish if you're putting it on full range, especially if you're shooting around cover. Why are you in full mode when shooting from cover? Oh, right, because you have the option of full time manual override. The zoom can be push-pull operated for versatile and adaptable telephoto shooting. If that's your focus (ha) this is a fantastic lens to have. It's also five hundred bucks cheaper than Canon's own 400mm telephoto. You want to get incredible shots of BIRD ACTION while knee deep in swamp water, right?

Amazing lens!
I recently just got a camera for the first time, a canon m50, to take pictures of my daughter and wildlife for when we go on hikes and to take pictures of backyard birds. I wanted a telephoto lens but didn’t want to spend over a thousand since this is just a new hobby. Decided to get this one and it didn’t disappoint! I use it with a canon lens adapter and the images are sharp. I have yet to calibrate it with the USB dock but it seems to be working just fine, right out of the box, esp the autofocus so I haven’t done that yet. Paired with my Mirrorless camera, the weight is not bad at all. I can lug this around all day and not get weary. I shoot without a tripod and I barely notice and shaking.

Great Lens!
Got mine last week. I had watched many reviews on line. I must say that this lens lives up to reviews. It is solidly built. The zoom ring is tight so as not to have lens creep and easy to turn and zoom. The focus ring is very similar. Autofocus is a tad slow at 400mm but not too bad. At shorter focal lengths autofocus is quick and very silent. Since it is an f5, ISO will have to be increased to quicker shutter speeds. I have not had opportunity to shoot birds, they have all seemed to disappear (maybe they know I have a new lens!) but the pictures I have taken are good, crisp and will hold up well when cropped. I shoot a Rebel T5i and with the crop sensor the 400 is equivalent to about 640 or so. The images are a little soft at f5 but really tac sharp at f8. Overall, I could not be more please with the Sigma 100-400 and am very glad I purchased it. I borrowed a Canon 100-400 last spring and images roughly taken at the same angle, same distance are as good with the Sigma. This is a great alternative to the Canon at 1/3 the price. The photo is Buddy, one of our dogs.

Love this lens!!!
This is one SHARP glass!!!I really love this lens. It's only about a third the price of the Canon 100-400 MkII, while only being 1/3 stop of light slower. But is much sharper, and lighter than the canon. I often use this with the Canon 2x Mkiii teleconverter without any issues whatsoever. I like the programmability of it through the Sigma dock to make it more in line with your shooting style. On the downside, only 2 things...in less than optimal light it can be rather slow to focus...I just switch it to manual and using focus peaking, get my focus that way. The other is the lack of an official tripod collar. I got one from ishoot what works great. https://smile.amazon.com/iShoot-Support-100-400mm-Contemporary-ARCA-Swiss/dp/B085M8QVGL/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=ishoot+sigma+100-400+collar&qid=1613159952&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A1J7OB0CIMVRFW&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTTZIUkQyN045UDE4JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjAxNDg5WUhBSUdYSE5VSVk2JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTEwMjM2NjYxQVE0M0NOMktXSVNWJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==I simply lined the inside of the collar with gaffer's tape to prevent any scratches.Overall...this is a must own lens if you need anything longer than 200mm. For the price and quality, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better.Go on now...get it! :)

Best value in telephoto zoom
Bought this lens for a trip a year ago and don't regret it one bit. It was my first Sigma lens and I was blown away by the quality. Very sharp full zoom, autofocus is much quieter than my Canon or Tamron lenses. Great bokeh when using like a macro, even if it isn't rated a macro lens. The background just fades away when you focus on your subject! I am very happy

Super Prodotto
Prodotto spedito in tempi brevi, arrivato in perfette condizioni.

Fast focus, stablizer silent and crisp sharp lens
This review is written and reviews at two occassions, first copy was returned which was kindly replaced by the seller. The lens is priced high in india due to import duties which are levied on it, 150-600 and 100-400 are being sold at almost same price if birding and reach is of ultimate concern go for 150-600 without a second thought. My reason for choosing this lens are around having a means to capture street and having a mid range zoom which this lens will support. The description mentions carry case and strap, but lens merely comes with hood, the seller needs to update the listing.A good second option for against canon 100-400 as mentioned in multiple reviews with sharpness worthy of the price.
