Cooling fan
It noticeably cools down a wide area in front of it. Passes air through a wet curtain, reducing its temperature. So far measured 3° decrease in the temperature with a thermometer placed 1.5 yards from it.My perception of cooling is greater than the measurement because of the air flow.It has a wind effect in which the airflow strength is randomized between 0-1-2-3 which is useful when you don't want consistent flow all the time.I can keep the AC at 78- 80°F and get the living area to a very comfortable temperature to cut the light bill.It is a pretty good fan even without the cooling effect. I turn the water system off and use it like an ordinary fan at times. One missing feature is it doesn't remember the last settings you used. But you can set it with a few clicks anyway or access all functions with the remote.

Moves hot air like nobody's business
The AC in my office is not working. I bought this to try to cool my workspace. Not terribly difficult to assemble and not very effective. The water tank does not remove from the tower. Getting water and the ice packs into the water tank is not very hard but removing those packs is quite the task. This "cooler" has a good fan but fails miserably at cooling my 10x10 office enough to warrant keeping it. The most temperature change I found was 3 degrees F after 8 hours of non-stop cooling. With a starting temperature of 83 degrees, that just doesn't make me happy. Pitiful example of a swamp cooler.

Not high quality
The instructions are limited to put the pedestal together and the unit is so wobbly it leans to one side or the other! It is not really a cooler but just a fan. I love the sleek design and quite fan sound but the evaporator is useless and for this reason I believe it is overpriced. I would not recommend it to anyone else in my situation but I will use it as a fan.Not impressed overall.

Cool Air Was Comfortable
I just used my air/swamp cooler last night. I was going to send it back based on all the mediocre reviews and I'm glad I didn't. We have it placed in a bedroom that doesn't get cool by the A/C that well and it's working out perfectly. I used our own ice packs as they are thicker and I think the cool air lasts longer. The sound is a hum hardly noticeable. It definitely made a difference in our stuffy bedroom, which is about 10X12 sq feet.

Good for small spaces
I think it's important for people to have reasonable expectations. If you are expecting this to cool your entire home, you will be disappointed.I have this unit in our bedroom beside our bed and it definitely has a cooling effect. Not like an Air Conditioner, but a noticeable cooling effect. Appropriate for small spaces; maybe next to a home office desk or like how I have set up. That works good. There are larger evaporative air coolers suitable for larger spaces, but I didn't need a large one.If your home has central AC, and maybe to conserve on your energy bill you don't want to run it over night, this is an excellent option if utilized properly.

I love it!!
All you have to do is put the base together and attach it to the unit. It’s sturdy I use the rotator all the time. I use it all the time in fact right now I’m using the fan now! I love that it can either be a fan or air conditioner! The air conditioner is easy to figure out and it works very well! I’m very happy well worth the money!

Nice design, poor performance
Nice looking product, works great! Unfortunately the unit leaks!Once the water starts to circulate through the water pad, eventually there's a puddle of water on the floor around the base (Especially not good for wood flooring).Tech support was great, they authorized a return for the 1st unit, sent a brand new replacement quick. 2nd unitstarted out OK, hoping that the issue would not be a repeat... Wrong!2nd unit with exact same flaws, returned for refund and purchasing a completely different brand and design. So long lovely design with poor functionality. What an unfortunate situation of time and money

Disappointingly mediocre and cheaply made. Remote works my entertainment electronics.
This fan cooler Lacks power and the remote control works my speaker system. Makes me hate to use the fan. Device started leaking after 2 months of use. Inside tank isn't removeable and a gross crust remains even after you wipe it out. This fan should cost about 40 bucks not 160.
