Dark Mafia Wars !!
Amazing book !! So Hot 🔥 🥵 🔥 Dante was a sexy mofo all the way so much you could feel it through the pages 🥵😚 & how he loved Bridget all through the years Sigh !! ... He had his demons to deal with but I did feel for him through the years because of the mistake he made , listening to his brother but he was too young to realise the damage it caused him . Bridget was such a lovely person & a strong woman in her own right also she had her own demons to get through , you could feel the chemistry between Dante & Bridget WOW !! & the smexy times were smoldering hot ☄️🌋 had to cool off through them 💧 Even though it was a Mafia book I wouldn't say that there was over the top violence or killing throughout I personally felt it was interspersed throughout the story as & when needed & I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what happened next & I couldn't put it down so it was an all-nighter until I finished it , Phew ! So I would definitely recommend this book as it was a great story & held my attention all the way through & now I've downloaded the next one in the series as I can't wait to find out how Gianni and Cara get on ?

fabulous book
Wow I’ve just read the most amazing book, I had to read this book in one go as it was to good to put down. I always rooted for Dante and Bridget and then Sean came along at the right time and I was thrown in a different direction. This book made me cry and was so sad at times and highly emotional. It all worked out in the end but I was on the edge of my seat. Beautiful book and another incredible series from Maggie Cole. Bring on the next book. Just love love mafia 🥰

Love over time
This was an interesting read as dante and Bridget's friendship develops over several decades. Growing up in mafia families they were allies, rules and feelings didn't always work in their favour. Bridget couldn't take anymore hurt from dante so she tries to move on with her life. Fate, misfortune or just pain evil in the world draws them back together time and again. Bridget suffers in silence for years, but dante had to prove she was always his. Its sad and heartbreaking to see her deal with the hurt and pain, others could have helped but the risk was too great. Dante was always there for her,but she almost pushes him too far.Great read.

Love, betrayal, intrigue, heartbreak and death!!
We all want so much out of a novel to make it great.Love, betrayal, intrigue, heartbreak and death isn't something you'd normally get in just one book!!Maybe through a series you might hope for two, or if you're really lucky, three of the aforementioned traits and that would be more than acceptable. But you'd never expect ALL five in just one book.Yes through a series of six books you could cover all said traits and it would be extremely fulfilling. That is of course if the books were any good. After all having all five traits in a series doesn't necessarily equal a good book!!That said, this is book one and for the first time in a very long time, all five traits are in this book!! So has it worked to the authors best wishes or has it failed drastically!!Thankfully the answer is yes!!!!From the very first page your brought into a world of intrigue, on so many levels. First he has demons to sort out and then the arrival of one of his brothers and then there's them!! All drawing you in and without realising it, you're already hooked!!There's also the intrigue about her, intrigue about him and to the why's and whims of what's caught each other to be drawn so deeply, so intrinsically, from the very first sighting in the lobby of the Salvatore. Then we start to really move and before long we're knee deep in lies, schemes, attacks, murder, death (obviously 🙄🙄) and let's not forget....a huge amount of LUST and possibly love and then the heart wrenching betrayal!! All coming to a soul crushing crescendo on the last page!!Thankfully I already having the other five books and the audio too.Performed by the amazing talents of well known narrator's, Mackenzie Cartwright and Shane East, bringing the story to life. In all honesty, if the books have Audible i always get that too!!I love reading my book, with my wireless ear phones plugged in, I'm good to go. If you've never tried it, I would ask you to give it ago!! I never just listen to it, I will always read it, as the more skilled narrator's really do help bring the story alive and give it more power or less, if needed!!Would I recommend??The answer is yes, without a seconds doubt. But buy both and listen to the characters and the passion of them, due to the skilled talents of the aforementioned narrator's.

Both Hot and Chilling
This story is in some ways a revisit of some of the previous stories in the various Mafia Wars series' but it is Dante's and Bridget's story. You sorta get the bare basics of Sean and Bridget's story too, because their story is a part of Dante and Bridget's. I will admit I waited years to start this series because I didn't want to wait for books to be published and because I wasn't a huge fan of the way some previous books sorta overlapped meaning a lot of repeating time. But in this book because I waited quite a long time the parts with various past stories were excellent because they reminded me of the stories of the others. I think Bridget and Sean are almost epic in the O'Mallie series because he died and she left... But in this story you find out why she was in Chicago and met Sean and why throughout Jillian and Finn's stories she and Dante seem to always be together. You also get more details for what happens to her and Sean when he gets killed, enough you wish the two traitors could be killed in a much more brutal way... As I recall they died pretty easily shot i think then just disappeared... I really enjoyed this story and I was worried I wouldn't because it recovers so many bits and pieces of other stories. Its fast paced too although not a lot of the gun battles, car chases, and rescues other than those from some other stories... I sorta thought Dante dad died in Killian or Finns story but perhaps this story doesn't quite reach that point. I am looking forward to his brother's story now.

This Book Was Hot And Totally Awesome
Toxic is the first of Maggie Cole's New York Mafia Wars series; I anxiously awaited this novel, as Maggie is an expert in weaving her novels together in such a way that you are already interested, invested, and intrigued about the characters before you even turn the first page. In Toxic, we are introduced to Bridget, her late husband Sean, and Dante. All of the books in this series are amazing, and I highly recommend reading them in order. Toxic is the love story between Dante Marino and Bridget O'Conner that started when they were teenagers. Due to immaturities, miscommunication, and teenage angst, they didn't get together and Bridget went on to find the love she sought in Sean O'Malley. Dante never got over Bridget and lived with years of regret, filling the void in his heart with meaningless sex. After Sean had passed, Bridget isolated herself and lived only to keep her children safe. Toxic is the story of Bridget and Dante overcoming their demons, and Bridget learning to trust and lean on others in order to move on and live her life to the fullest. This book is full of all the feels and has many of the steamy scenes that Maggie is so amazing at creating. I can't wait for the second book in the series, in which we get to meet Dante's twin Gianni Marino and his ex-girlfriend Cara Serrano. Maggie already has hooked me in with Toxic, and I am here for it.

Gab schon bessere

The story I’ve been waiting for 💔
After getting the smallest tastes of Bridget’s story in Mafia Wars and then the O’Malleys, I have been dying to know the backstory and Maggie did not disappoint!! I was so drawn in to the anguish and turmoil of these characters - I couldn’t put the book down and finished it in a day (release day 😂) I’m so relieved at how their joined stories came to fruition-but from at least halfway through I was already anticipating what is going to happen with Dante‘s brother and his love interest for the next book and I’m so upset I have to wait so long now to find out in the next book 😩Maggie Cole is one of my unicorn authors & she has yet to disappoint me.Forever a 5 ⭐️ read ♥️~Nic xx

Good but…
The story as a whole is good. I enjoyed it enough to finish it but it definitely isn’t going to be one of those that I read over and over. I really disliked the start. The continuous time jumps were frustrating. I just wanted to get on to the actual story. Then it seemed the secret the FL was keeping was going to be the biggest plot twist, or game changer ever. I felt like the bits and pieces we were getting was a precursor to the big reveal when in reality the bits and pieces were pretty much the whole thing and the resolution of it was very anticlimactic. When a whole story revolves around one problem/issue, and then gets fully resolved in a matter of one or two chapters, I feel like I missed out on something.
