Great little engine
Just got this product on Monday - Engine is so light weight carried it one handed in the box to the garage. After watching a YouTube video to find out where the lower end gear oil goes " hint" take the propeller off.I filled it up with gear oil, got some gas, pre mixed it, pumped the primer button about 9 times. On the 3rd pull it fired right off. Shut the motor off, filled up a 5 gallon bucket of water and fired it up again. As soon as I twisted the throttle- That little motor sent water flying all over the garage. I bought this to go on my pelican bass raider. Will see this week how fast it will push the boat. Super easy to install- The motor will swivel 360 degrees so that you can use it in reverse - Throttle arm flips over for ease of use when in reverse. Great little motor - Will see how long it lasts.

Great bang for the buck with some minor stuff
This review is for the Aiqidi 3.5hp outboard - So, overall, I really love this little motor, although I am giving it a 4 star review. This is only because it has some minor quirks. However, you really can't beat the price/performance. As long as you keep this in mind, it really seems to be a nice motor. It is fairly quite compared to what i was expecting. It is reasonably well built, and the seller (TBVECHI) has responded quickly to my questions. Pros... it is quieter than a lawnmower style motor. The prop does not use a clutch (so no clutch to fail). It is water cooled. It looks better in person, than the photos. It is very light. The prop is decent hard plastic and is a standard size (I purchased an aluminum one on Amazon). And, it starts easily. So, what are the Cons? (Keep in mind it is only $250...) One odd quirk is that the throttle has a non-functional area for about half of the twist motion. So, on my motor, from 0% to 50% didn't change anything. Another way to think about it, is that idle is at 50% and Full is at 100%. it;s not an issue. It does not impact performance. It's just something to keep in mind when starting/running the motor. So, for me to start the motor, I set the throttle at 50%+ one dot. Of course, your motor may not have this dead area. Another minor item was the latch on the front of the cowling (cover) had to be adjusted with a screwdriver to be snug. Again, minor. There is some variability in keeping the RPMs steady (although it only varied a little). This may settle out after the break in period, but again not a deal killer. And finally, the motor may be running slightly rich (I did not need to use the choke to start at all). Again, i will know after the break in period. A note on gears... This motor is always in gear. It has no clutch and only runs in forward (you spin it around to go backwards). In my opinion, this makes the motor more reliable, since there is no clutch to fail. When you receive the motor, put it in a vertical position and fill the lower unit with gear oil (down near the propeller). To do this, buy marine "gear" oil (this is not the 2-stroke marine oil that gets mixed with gas). Unscrew the two gear oil screws shown in the user manual (a small amount of oil may come out- that's normal). Attach the oil dispenser to the "bottom" hole, and fill until it comes out the "top" hole. Then replace the screw in the TOP hole first. Remove the dispenser and finally, replace the screw in the bottom hole. When running, make sure to turn on the gas and open the air vent. And, make sure to follow the break in guidance. The break in gas/oil ratio (use 2-stroke marine oil) is 25:1 and after break in is 50:1. I will try to put a video on YouTube to show some of this, how to use the gas/oil ratios properly, and some other tips. I hope this helps.

Motor works but not usable and can't sell it off. Stuck with a motor I can't use.
I need to contact support to get the Manufacturer Certificate of Origin (MSO) and a signed bill of sale, but can't load their Chinese website cuz I'm in the US. I asked once before and they just sent me the amazon receipt which is useless at the parks and wildlife. My state requires an MSO and Bill of Sale so I can register the motor. Since I can't contact them I have to hope they see this. Otherwise I will have wasted $250 on a motor I can't use and can't sell cuz it needs to be registered in order to sell it to someone else. They already had to send me the vin number before cuz it didn't come with one which already astonished me.Just get an Electric motor, save yourself the hassle and the strict requirements on boats our gov sets. I got an inflatable for this and not only can't I get it fully registered to use but I also have to spend another $200 on Coast guard approved boat lights. FOR AN INFLATABLE RAFT! I've been trying to get it all sorted out for over 6 months now. I've taken the boat out once and had to paddle it to get by on restrictions.

196cc 7 hp outboard
I’ll update as I go along and learn more about the unit :1. Don’t believe anything the manual says. Check over and verify everything! The lower unit was dry as a bone but in the manual it says it’s full.2. There is no choke as I know it on this unit. You must use the linkage to get it closed. I reached out via email and got nada company response.3. Take your time to learn what you have because it is a cheap outboard and no one is going to help you. Grease and lube everything!4. I got it running and there are some concerning noises coming from the unit. It may be the flywheel slapping about or the like but I will keep you up to date on its use.5. I’m at a 3 out of 5 so far.Update: Looks like it’s better on the noise. I’ve learned how to use the tilt, locking mechanisms. Upgrade to 4 of 5
