This is made of plastic so no worries of breaking glass but if dropped I believe this type of plastic would break so treat like glass. The balloon when lit looks like a flame on the inside of the balloon. Very cool looking. Whenever I get these Solar led outdoor garden decorations I always replace the battery that comes with it because it usually comes with about the lowest capacity battery as did this. 300mah which I replace with 1100mah and every morning the LEDs in all my outdoor stuff remains lit while everyone I see have gone out. I like they last longer and if you don't get great sun there is enough storage for it to still light up This one shows you in the directions how to replace the battery but they don't tell you how to access the battery's and I know they are in the underside of the solar panel and there is no direction how to get this out of the balloon. Basically it's just wedged in as turning the assembly doesn't release it or there is no turn to unlock it. You need to get a very thin screwdriver and In the small notches around the top you just pry up around the perimeter and it feels like you might break it or tabs but there are no tabs and nothing to break. After I replaced the battery I protected the screws with some dielectric grease which helps keep moisture out as I've come to learn if you ever need to replace the battery these little screws are usually corroded. Also to protect the solar panel on all my stuff this included I spray a UV clear coat protector and the solar panels don't fog up. Each year I reapply a clear coat on all my outdoor solar panels and they continue to look new and never fog or haze up anymore. I got this on sale and hung it from a trellis and am very Pleased with the way it looks. Not happy with no instructions and fear of breaking it trying to access the battery but no harm done. I keep the boxes these things come in and after the season I packed them up for storage and they continue to look and work like new for a long time. This has a place In our backyard. And even during the day the little hot air balloon is a nice decoration. I might consider more in different colors. This one had the purple my wife's favorite color on sale so that's why I chose this.

So pretty in the backyard. A wind storm knocked it over and broke one of the panes and it no longer lights up. But it is still pretty so I kept it.

Beautiful and durable

I love everything about this. It’s been up hanging outside about a month now. It’s looks exactly as advertised. It’s smaller than I pictured- clearly I need to read the measurements next time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it’s actually better than I expected, and smaller is somehow cuter, in this case. I’d love to replace the bulb with a cobalt-blue bulb, but this bulb works and I don’t want to mess with it. The little itty bitty instruction sheet that came with it could be a little more clear. Still- I’m definitely buying one at Christmas for each of my close gal pals. 🙂

Bought 2 and left them to properly charge, switched them on at dusk and they both were still on when I got up at 6:00 the next morning (win!), they are quite pretty flickering in the night (also a win!) Now will see how long they last, hopefully will be a win too!

This looks stunning in my window at night. The flickering flame makes it look like a real hot air balloon. The flame only lasts a few hours at present, but once spring/summer arrives and more sunlight is available, it should charge a bit better. All in all, I really love it.
