LOSTARHeavy Duty Shackle Upgrade Kit for CRE3000, Stock and Equaflex 2.25" Shackles

These were a huge improvement compared to the stock Dexter ones. Mine were so worn they could have failed at any moment—I caught it just in time. Pro-tip: clean as much rust as possible out of the leaf spring eyelets & use a large C-clamp to press the (pre-greased) bushings in. Use an old nut as a spacer to protect the zerk fitting while pressing in with the C-clamp. Don’t use a powerful impact wrench to set the nuts—use a wrench and then torque.

Relatively easy to install with the right tools. I believe you are going to want an impact wrench to do this. I don’t think I could have done it with out it. It was a big improvement over the original shackles . Probably more than double the thickness of the old shackles plus don’t have plastic bushings now and can grease the new ones easily. Fit perfectly.

They are as decribed. I had to reduce the outside diameter of the bushings in order to install them in my trailer. My original setup had the nylon or plastic bushings. This could be just specific to me. However it seems to be worth the effort because now i can grease everything and they are much more heavy duty. Dont force them. Brass deforms if you force it.

Love the thickness of the shackles but the pins and nut can be easily stripped which was a sad moment during the install.Brass bushings work great but the seriation on the pin and the thread on the pin are easily stripped for a hundred bucks should have been grade 8 or better
