So, funny story. At work we had door with the electric door strike. It did not work very well, so we retrofit the door with a maglock and this motion sensor. For those of you not familiar with this, a motion sensor is used to unlock the door as a person is walking toward it. So a couple of days after we installed the new locking method, employees were commenting that the door never locked. We asked them to test it from the other side, and yes, it works fine!I'm not an expert on door lock stuff, and I want to make sure I buy decent product. So I identify brand names sold by wholesalers to the industry. Of course, they won't give you prices, much less even sell to you, but it is a great way to identify quality brands of parts. My method worked and Amazon got me parts quickly. Very pleased with this motion sensor, and we will be buying more for other doors.

We have been using Kantech TREX-LT with the Back Plate for many years now. We find them very reliable and easy to install and wire.

These feel a little cheap (plastic, etc.) but they work fine. We'll see how long they last. So far, they have worked very good for us. The adjustment part is a little cheesy but works.

what is the operating tempurature of this device ? install manual has everything but the temps desirable for operation. nor does the website have any in depth specs
