The New Yorker Book of Literary Cartoons

Urbane and Witty -- As One Would Expect
The New Yorker and quality cartoons go hand in hand. If you are of an literary mind at all, you will love this collection. All of the New Yorkers greatest cartoonists are collected here From Roz Chast to James Thurber. I won't reveal any punchlines, but I will atate that are all urbane and sophisticated as one would expect. My only complaint is that it is a bit on the short side. Atill worth the price.

Love books; loves to laugh
This one is a literary lover's delight. Couldn't resist reading straight through the book although I wanted to go slowly in order to savor every page.I recommend it to anyone who loves books and loves to laugh. It's a winner.

Just the Best
The New Yorker cartoons just can't be beat! They're amusing without being juvenile. This would make a great book for lovers of literature who have all the other books.

Great fun
As usual, the New Yorker cartoon books don't disappoint. Clever, sophisticated and funny. This is a perfect choice for the literary-minded person on your gift list.

Neat little book for book lovers.
I laughed out loud at several points and loved New York references that may be lost on others.

New Yorker Cartoons
Well, they are New Yorker cartoons and as such, as usual, interesting. This is, however, not the best book to get. If, like me, you are not particularly literary, you will want a broader version in Mankoff other book. Get it!

Witty and wonderful
As in wonderfully original and sharply intelligent. Only The New Yorker can capture the essence of true literary wit by being as gloriously and cruelly aware of the humour that spears bookish writers and readers in their most vulnerable funny bones.

Heel grappig

Very poor quality
The paper and the print are very poor quality. The cartoon prints are like low resolution magnified images. It is not pleasurable to hold in hand or to read. They could have charged a few dollars more and made a proper book. Do not buy it as a gift, no one will consider this a good gift.
