This journal is perfect for me. It has a soft leather cover and flexible binding, which is good for me because I usually have things like stickers, letters, stationery, stencils, and papers shoved in the back of my journal. The paper is very slightly textured and thick enough that I can use pens, markers, and watercolors with minimal bleeding. It’s a bit smaller than I expected but that’s my own fault for not reading the description, and I think it might be a happy accident because it will be able to fit into a new purse I was gifted over the holidays. Really, really happy with this purchase. I had gone to a local holiday market searching for a journal but couldn’t find what I wanted and ordered this on my way home and have no regrets! It feels really well made and sturdy, and I think it will be able to hold up to the beatings that my journals usually get. I’m almost done with my current journal and really looking forward to breaking this one in!

I ordered this with trepidation. a sketch book is something I like to be able to get in person to feel the pages. (weird, I know...) Anyway, this arrived in a snow storm. The package or envelope it was in was saturated and I had a feeling the leather would be ruined. When I opened it, I found the journal itself wrapped in a black bag, the black bag was in a plastic bag and all of that was in another sealed plastic bag. The journal was bone dry :) Not only that, it's wonderfully crafted and well, I cannot say enough good things about it. I am very happy with my purchase. And I would like to say thank you to the seller for crafting and shipping this amazing product with the utmost care.

This is well-crafted work of art that just so happens to double as a highly functional, esthetically pleasing journal. It contains 5 generous reams of handmade, unlined paper (GLORY BE!!), all of which are securely attached to the journal w/2 suede leather ties, assuring each ream is positioned & safely secured. There are 2 page markers to ensure the work of writer, artist, IT professional or even young journalist can be quickly & easily referenced. As exciting as is the marriage of form & function w/beauty, generous proportions & craftsmanship, one of the most exciting aspects of this work of art is its authentic affordability. Even the most struggling of novice writers & cartoonists can afford the best tools w/ which to work!I without reservation, I recommend this journal as well as the man who is its creator, craftsman & purveyor. We bought this journal for our son-in-law; his family likes to keep running records of card game scores. The journal is attractive, looks like it will hold up and can be used for all sorts of notes, drawings, thoughts, etc. Glad we found this for him.

I run a tabletop RPG for my nephews and wife. It's a great way for us to keep in touch with the boys and make some memories. One of the nephews asked for a leather-bound journal to use as a gaming journal. He wanted something that felt appropriate for a fantasy setting. This journal was exactly what I was looking for.The entire thing feels well-made. None of the pages were loose, and all of the materials felt sturdy. The paper is a good thickness and unlined. The leather strap that one uses to keep it closed is made of the same leather as the cover, and it's long enough to wrap the book securely with plenty of length left over. I wrapped it quickly, held it up by the corner of one of the covers, and shook it. The strap kept the journal snuggly closed. The leather is soft and has the rough, unpolished finish that I wanted. I have a feeling that with consistent use, the leather will become partially smoothed and polished by the author's hands.My nephew loved it. It was just what he was hoping for. I got the 7.5"x5" version. It's small enough to slip into a backpack or large pocket, yet the pages are large enough to hold journal entries, notes, and small sketches. If you're looking for a notebook that's sturdy, convenient, and satisfying to hold, this is the one for you.

First, the good. This is attractive, well-constructed (but handmade; it's not going to look mass-produced), and a definite value for the money. I bought the Cherry Red 8x6 journal, and the color is not what I would call cherry red, but it does exactly match the picture, so go more by their picture of the item, not so much the color description.The cover is pliable but sturdy, and the paper is thick and a bit rough. My fountain pen does not bleed through.The one negative is the odor. When I got it, it smelled like some sort of preservative, which is understandable if the seller had mold issues at one time, as some reviews suggest. Also, I got the 8x6 size, and I notice the 7x5 size is by far most popular, which may mean that they don't have to store those as long, so that could be why mine smelled so strongly.Anyway, I basically set it on a windowsill the day after I got it. There was a decent breeze, and I kept going in and opening it to new sections, turning it around, etc. At the end of the day I'd say 90% of the offensive odor was gone, and now a week or so later, I can barely smell it at all, it's just leather and paper.

Amazing quality! Does smell a bit like paper preservative, which is absolutely understandable being genuine material. Leave the notebook in front of a fan on high for a day and the smell is totally gone.

I bought this to make an "Adventurers Guide" for a costume I'm making. This is very well made. The leather is study, but soft. I got the Deckle Edge Brown Tan 7x5 book, and the paper looks great and has a canvas type feel to it. The drawings I did stay looking good with opening and closing the book a lot with no smearing.

El papel es decente para escribir con pluma fuente y distintos tipos de tinta. El diario está bien ecuadernado, pero la piel tiene un olor muy fuerte a urea o algún químico similar que se usó para curtirlo. Han pasado varias semanas y el olor no se quita. El cuero tiene algunas manchas pequeñas como de grasa o aceite.

First of all, let me just say how absolutely STUNNING this whole order was 💕 I ordered this notebook to keep a loose story/history of mine and my fiancés engagement and to gift it to him on our wedding day 💕The notebook comes in a protective plastic wrapping (complete with a silica bead pack to keep the leather in good condition), and is then nestled down inside a lovely black drawstring bag inside the packaging 🤩 The seller also included a beautiful handsigned note with the product, which I thought was a beautiful touch 😁The leatherwork in the bindings, closure strap, and cover are well-made, strong, and flexible and allows for lay-flat writing ✏ The pages are blank and have a raw yet smooth texture to them, which I absolutely love 😍 And unlike other leatherbound notebooks this one also includes 2 silken ribbons for page markers so you can pick up where you left off ➰ALSO: I ordered this on Oct 7, and got it on Oct 14, which was SUPER quick 🤩The quality is beautiful and the price is fabulous! I can't wait to start writing in it 😁 Will definitely be ordering again someday 💸
