I never let wax build up in my ears. This product is much better for cleaning wax out than a hair pin. It also soothed the itch I often get in the ear canal.

2 came broken when they arrived and was able to use the others and one of the 2 I had left also broke sad moment only have one left

I typically read the one star reviews, decide if the reviewer is being unreasonable or has inaccurate expectations, or if their complaints are things I'm willing to risk. For this product, I wish I'd followed the advice of all the naysayers. Not only does it not work, 2 of mine actually *hurt*! the top wire isn't flush so when it's inserted into the ear canal, it scratches. Don't buy these under any circumstances! Neil Med has plastic ones that I was hoping to replace to be more sustainable (you have to buy all 4 styles to get the on that works) wish Id never bought these.

The small metal tools if not used with extreme caution could damage a person's eardrum permanently. I was not pleased when I received the ear cleaning kit as the instruments are all METAL and very small. If Qtips are not recommended for cleaning ears, then this product is far worse.
