This is a well-priced, good quality doorknob and lock. The knob and key are both made of sturdy material that feels good to the touch, and doesn't damage easily.There's just one thing: I am a highly forgetful person. This doorknob was installed on an interior door: the door to my bedroom. One chilly, late evening, I stepped out of the room and impulsively locked the door behind me.. without bringing a key with me.What began then was an adventure in the dead of night that kept both myself and my boyfriend awake until 4am on a school night (we both attend college). We tried to scale the condo to get to the second floor window using stacked storage bins, a spare door, a step ladder, and one another. However, we are both quite short (I am 4'11" and he is 5'1"). He called the police (?), and they offered to come over and help us break our door open, but would not assist us in climbing through the second story window (reasonable). We declined the kind offer. We then visited our neighbors and borrowed their ladder, and in her infinite wisdom, one of our neighbors gave us a sturdy hammer.Once climbing in to the room didn't work, we decided to try to pick the lock. I searched for tutorials and we took our turns attempting to follow the directions of a man on the screen. To no avail. I called around for locksmiths, but it was already around 2am at the time and no one available was within our price range.So we gave up. We looked at the hammer. Our last option.It was just past 4am by the time we were able to enter our bedroom. It took us hours of labor to get the door open. The knob caved in (eventually), but the lock held firm and could not be tampered with using any tools. To summarize: this is a good freaking door knob. Or we're just shite thieves, which I suppose isn't entirely unlikely. We're choosing to focus on the positives here, though -- this is a solid knob with a satisfying, well-built locking mechanism. You will most definitely want to have a backup key hidden somewhere in your house, or an alternative method of entry if you're anything like us.

it took me longer to get the old knob off, then it did to install the new one, as the old one had a stripped screw. It's nothing special, but exactly what I needed for my bedroom door.

Different color than expected, but perfect. Looks just like brushed nickel and matches other hardware.

These installed okay for the most part after some re-working of the existing holes in the old doors.Have only had them installed for a couple weeks now, but seem okay so far.The key that comes with them is small enough to fit on top of the door trim above the door so you don't lose it, but a slim flat head screwdriver will also work as a key if you lose it.Had to hammer the bend on the latch plate that goes into the door a little on the 3 I purchased to make them fit into the existing hole because they weren't quite factory bent at 90 degrees to the plate and hence didn't quite fit correctly. (Very minor issue and easily solved)Biggest issue I had was the old knobs in my old house only had 1.75" holes for the knobs, and these need 2.125" holes.. Made a jig so my hole saw would stay centered in existing hole and was able to get them drilled to current standard size, and these fit just fine.Will see how they hold up.

The doorknob with lock was easy to install--I replaced an existing doorknob that didn't have a lock in one of our rooms. The doorknob fit right into the existing doorknob structure on the door and the key lock worked perfectly. The value for what it cost was great.

I installed it myself even though I didn't have a drill, used elbow grease. Simple and completes the look in my room.

Quedó instalada de una manera muy práctica. Un poco complicado hacer el ajuste final de los tornillos pero nada fuera de lo común. Luce excelente.

Bought these to keep my father in laws mind strong, back in the day was a lock smith and it gives him something to do as he gets up in age.
