Solid well built mount especially for the price

This is an okay QR scope mount for its price point with some needed modifications.Scope was sturdy when mounted; the QR captures and releases firmly when adjusted.QR adjustability is very well designed with captured nuts secured by a pin for each partial rotation.The lower profile beveled tops were a nice feature for carrying and storage.Two issues that needed addressing on my purchased item (SKU AIR11834Q) were:1) Scope attachment did not match my Picatinny rails (2 tested). Placement was good but the blocks were too large and it required filing down the fronts of the fitment blocks on one of my rails (test rail) to fit. This negates the QR aspect as each of my rails would need to be filed for each particular position and this would prevent swapping to other stock (unmodified) rails.2) The stock 3mm allen bolts had a strange star shape that prevented full capture of the allen wrench. The material also seems softer than standard black bolts used on other rails. Two quality Wiha 3mm allen wrenches were tried with same result. Both the ball end and flat end would not seat properly in the stock 3mm allen bolts and these were replaced with functional stainless test bolts. The test bolts heads were slightly larger therefore required some effort to seat properly on the milled (?) lands but secured perfectly.In summary this is a good design but the execution is faulty.Item returned.

Overall, great product. Definitely get what you paid for and more. UTG generally has good quality for being on the cheaper side. I’m not the type that believes paying +$150 for a QD scope mount is going to make it better. Well made, very light, nice matte finish, good screws, and locking system tension can be adjusted to rail by tightening the Allen capture bolt. Very nice mount for smaller calibers for the price compared to other options. The QD latch has a small safety lock that’s nice. Be honest - a QD system is not ideal for precision/hard hitting recoil and If you strip these screws, you’re definitely over tightening. One inch tube, medium profile - Perfect balance for eye relief on a 10/22 and still see irons (Samson rail with integrated rear and night front).
