RothcoMA-1 Flight Jacket

The item came in great shape and is what I wanted. I was leaning towards a medium but the Size AI recommended a Large so I went with that and the jacket fits great and feels wonderful.

We bought this jacket for my son who is usually a men’s medium in shirts/jackets. We read reviews that said the jacket ran small so my husband bought him an XL😳 it was definitely an XL and fit my husband wears a Lg/XL. We exchanged it for a large so he could have some room to grow because he’s 15 and although the jacket is a little big, he wears it open and it looks great!

I had purchased another brand MA-1 style jacket a few years back, and it has been one of my best winter jackets - so much so, that my girlfriend now wears it all the time. This is a very good replacement. The outer shell is actually more durable, as does the inner lining. This jacket is much more functional as a reversible jacket, with the specialty reversible-style zipper. The zipper, snaps, pockets, zipper pulls, collar, and cuffs are all very good quality. The zipper was initially very difficult to work, because it's a heavy duty zipper, but has since become easier to use after a little oil and a break in period. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that the 3XL runs every-so-slightly smaller than I had expected (in comparison to my other military style jackets). As such, it's slightly harder to layer it over my thermal shirt and wool-lined hoodie. It's also a little shorter. Neither of these issues are deal-breakers, and the positives of this jacket GREATLY outweigh the negatives. I would HIGHLY recommend this jacket to someone who wants a rugged jacket that's stylish, functional, warm, and value priced. Given the quality of the materials and construction, I expect it should last even longer than the jacket it replaced (which is in its 5th winter season, with almost no signs of wear).

My son is getting his solo flight pilot license and he picked out this Rothko MA-1 Flight Men’s Bomber Jacket to keep him warm as his plane does not have heat. He loves this jacket and wears it to his flight lessons each time. I tried it on and it does keep in heat well. It is soft and feels warm! It is made very well. The zippers came protected with tissue wrap and are high quality zippers! This bomber exceeded my expectations and standards!

I bought this to replace an MA-1 I bought from Galls(?) some 16 years ago. The pockets didn't like all the use and washing.I figured, "Hey! This Rothco was a contract builder for these in the 60's. It's gotta be good!" No. Absolutely not.Here's my issues in numbered order:1. The outer shell was OK. No better or worse than the ages old jacket I can't let go. Cuffs seemed good as well. Arm length was OK.2. The pockets were some thin synthetic gray material, and they were very shallow. You'd have trouble fitting an average smart phone into it. My hands were fighting for space inside them.3. The lining of the jacket was so thin you could see through it. Flip it inside out and snag something, and you'd lose all your stuffing.4. The zipper sucks. I had to fight with it for three minutes to get it to zip up all the way because it catches. Do they make bear traps?5. The Chinese Factory that produces these don't seem to understand American sizes properly.5.a.The sleeves were great for length.5.b. Across the shoulders it was too tight.5.c. Across the torso it was too tight.5.d. This jacket is entirely too short. It was so busy hugging my shoulders that it couldn't drop down to my belt line.6. Inclusion of extra snaps tells me that the snaps you put on it were junk, and it's not a great confidence booster.I'm 5'11" and broad shouldered. So much so that I require 2XL just so it hangs correctly across my shoulders. It also lets me throw a hoodie underneath for an extra layer when needed. This failed every aspect of my requirements. I could have gone 3XL to get shoulder fit, but the bad zipper, see through lining, and shallow pockets make this a non starter. I'm returning it. And am avoiding all Rothco products from here on out.Long story short, If you want something durable, and well built, this is not it.

La qualité était très bien, la grandeur était bonne mais malheureusement la couleur n’était pas celle que j’avais sélectionné et commandé. J’ai trouvé cela très décevant surtout après avoir attendu près d’une semaine pour la livraison.

I'm 5'10" and about 230lbs, arm length drop shoulder tip to central wrist is about 24", shoulder width is about 19" - 20" from tip to tip and jacket fits me perfectly. Just went out in -14c with a light Hoodie jacket underneath and was adequately warm. It is a little poofy but that will relax. The jacket, as a pilots jacket, shouod ride just along the top of your hips. They are not supposed to ride below your hip. This is an amazing jacket for the price, I'd buy it again. And the people from Hero Tactical answer emails FAST and courteously. I am very happy with this jacket.
