Works great, up and running.
Got this finally after telling myself I needed one for some time. Works great. Use it for photo storage and my son loaded tons of movies on it and is streaming it all over, very nice (Plex is great)! The software and remote access is working, just be careful to use consistent user names across your computers. I'm very pleased with its performance and so far (4 months in) it is working perfectly. It was pretty much plug and play for me, I know a little about networking, I'm no expert, but a little google time I had it up and running in an hour or so. Still have more to do with it, its has many features I'm not yet using. Nice product. My purchase was a damaged box discount from Amazon and they said they stood behind it so I took the plunge, saved some $$$$ and had no problems.

GREAT NAS!!!
Does everything you want it to do (and more... it can host local DNS and Subversion (!!!) )(I bought a "WD My Cloud Home", got upset with what it couldn't do, and sent it back. Replaced it with this and have been psyched ever since.)Very easy to set up, allows super-users to have shell access to go nuts with it. Setup is with a _very_ easy to use web gui. Will let you swap out the internal drives for 10G drives if you want (though I have not figured out what that process would be... what about the os... how do you transfer that?)You can take an external usb drive and plug it in, and snapshot backups to it very easily.Good solution! Expensive... but great value.(PS: It DOES come with drives... (4x1T) plug in and it works.)

It is easy to access on the network
I have very few complaints. For a small office environment, it works well. It is easy to access on the network, has a decent amount of storage, seems to be pretty fast(processor wise) so there is not much lag. Quickbooks does not seem to like me storing files on it, as it has made quickbooks run slower vs storing the files on the machine I am using, but its a small price to pay in order to have the files backed up on a regular basis. There are plenty of apps available for it that make it nice to store pics or other docs from drives like google drive, etc., although the interface can have a little bit of a learning curve. Once you understand the interface though, its pretty good.

RN628XE4 is awesome.
I purchased the 32TB 8 bay 628X on here. It was super easy to setup and run. The only gripe I have is that there is no desktop app. Everything is done from the web. Ive had the NAS on for two months so far without any issues. I primarily use it as a Plex server. Ive tested it with 5 simultaneous 1080p lossless blu-ray streams and had no hiccups. It will stutter with a single 4K HEVC blu-ray, however. I just transcode them before putting them on the NAS so that I can utilize direct stream without any stutters or lags. I highly recommend this NAS for your home media server needs.

Great Units - Highly Recommend
Using in our business to share commonly used files including CAD, G-Code CNC machine files and spreadsheets. It is easy to set up. Have two of these units now. One backs up automatically daily to the other one, which is offsite. Provides peace of mind that our data will is safe. The response time is pretty good but we only have 1/10th of the capacity used. Not sure how it will respond when we get more data transferred to it.

Simple setup
Only NAS I've ever owned. Incredibly easy to set up. Had Plex up and running in about 45 minutes. Plex is running better off this NAS than it did from my laptop. Very happy.
