Mixed feelings.
For one thing, they're battery powered. So you have to switch them on like a remote controlled car. And so let's say you leave them on thru the night as a nightlight (which I think they're well suited for, the soft warm white color is lovely). Next morning, they're dimmer. The batteries are losing juice, of course. And it sort of continues, night by night, til you replace batteries. We ran them nonstop for seven days as a test. By the end they barely squeaked out any light. If you're wealthy enough to use 3 AAs every 4 days or so - these are the lights for you!

REALLY PLEASED!
Why would anyone buy battery operated lights, then whine about them being battery operated lights? Of course they'll dim with use, especially if left on all night or for a solid week. Since these don't have a timer, I switch them off after about 4-6 hours and they've held their brightness for several days, which is pretty good! It's just common sense; good batteries will last longer and the rechargeable kind are very economical! These lights are awesome, they're bright but actually WARM white! The copper wire is nearly invisible and makes it easy to bend the lights, so they wind up right where you want them. I need to tweak these a bit but they were easy to work with and look fabulous, so I ordered more sets for other projects. This price is hard to beat; if these only last through the holiday season, they'll have been more than worth it!

Worked only for a couple of hours, then got dimmer and dimmer...
I used brand new rechargeable batteries, and the lights were great for 2 hours. Then they got dimmer and dimmer and almost not visible at all. I thought maybe the batteries were gone but, only after 2 hours? So I charged them overnight and used the next day. The lights were bright for 5 minutes and then got dimmer and dimmer. I turned it off, and tried again hour later, the lights were bright for a minute and again got dimmer and dimmer to the point where I couldn't see any lights any longer. I read through the reviews and it seems some people dealt with the same problem, while other people's lights stayed bright for weeks without changing their batteries. So who knows what is wrong with them, but these didn't work for me and I returned it.

Love these little lights!
I love these little lights! Here are two centerpieces I used them on this Christmas. The lights are set in wire, so they hold their position well after placement.Keep in mind you have to plan a way to hide the battery pack, which is maybe half the size of a deck of cards.

Wonderfully aesthetic lights
I absolutely love these lights! They are beautiful, soft but bright, and perfect for knitting in bed. My sons took the first pair to string up in their tree house and they loved them so much that I had to let them keep them and immediately bought another string.

Picture of wire is misleading...but they are beautiful!
Revised: I am changing my initial review, as i love these lights more and more. I ended up using these copper-wire lights on a Christmas tree in another room apart from the others with silver wire. In comparison with the other fairy lights on my other mini-Christmas trees, the copper wire and brighter sparkling lights on these are stunning. They really do look better than the ones with silver wire. The only reason i am giving them 4 stars is becauae the picture showed silver-wire lights.Initial review: I am disappointed that the wire isn't the same as the wire shown in the picture. The wire in the picture would have matched my other fairy lights, and it was what I needed. The wire connecting these lights are copper in color. I won't be able to use them.

Nice set of fairy lights
In reviewing this Amazon asks to give a star rating for the remote control and timer function. These have neither. You just flick a switch to turn them on or off...Lights are very bright. Take 3 AA batteries and last for a good while. We have a newborn baby and have put these above our headboard and leave them on at night. Leave a good red glow in the room which is dark enough that we can sleep but bright enough that we can see when baby wakes. Baby loves staring at them at night, she gets mesmerised and then falls asleep (advice from the baby book). They last about 5 weeks of constant use, on for a few hours each night. The copper wire seems a bit delicate, but once the lights have been carefully put up, this is a benefit as you don't have bold wires everywhere.

Dainty and Bright
Surprised just how nice, dainty and bright these lights are. A few fir cones in fireplace along with these lights looks very Christmassy.

Cheap battery design
The media could not be loaded. Got this to brighteyup the gaping black hole when gas flame fire is off. The lights faded to practically nothing after 5 mins or so. Turns out the batteries don't fit tightly into the compartment. YouTube suggested folding tinfoil n plugging the gap so I did. It worked a treat and now they're beautiful - otherwise they'd have gone back. Hopefully mine was a dodgy one but if not, sort it out!

Bright but eats batteries
The price was excellent at £2.99 for one set of 50 bulbs and when first lit they were suberb and very bright. They use 3 AA batteries and we have a supply of good quality rechargeables however after one evenings usage it started to dim and 2nd night drained them, it constantly eats batteries, to be fair I have not tried std batteries but if it eats them at the same rate it would cost a fortune. Just an opinion but I believe that 50 bulbs for three batteries is too much (you will see similar products with 20 LEDs using the same power pack) probably needs 4. So now they have gone up in price I would say not worth it.

Not true red colour - more like pink!
The colour of the so-called 'red' LEDs are a sort of sickly dark pink. Therefore not as advertised.
