From the Wife's Perspective !!
Probably not the typical type of review you'd think you'd read.... I have never seen my husband so happy with a product as like this one. We purchased two Jaw horses one stays up and in constant use, the other is his "mobile" one... I have seen him using this practically every single day since the day of delivery. He has done more around the house then ever !!! This product has given him so many times the "extra hands" needed to do the job. Once more... it free's me up to not have to be the one "holding" the item he's working on... it's amazing... I'll give you an example: He needed to cut a board, a simple board, normally it was him who would say, "hey can you stand on this for me so I can get this angle just right...??" and now... all I hear is the sound of the skillsaw, and look out the window and realize he's hard at work.. and has just this week completed the making of my front door porch !!!! Both Jawhorses, set up, and in use and a very happy husband !!! I myself used it for a simple job and realized OMG this is great... I wanted to put together a picture frame and had nothing to hold it while I used the glue and nails... thought.. humm I'd try the Jawhorse myself... it was EASY to use... and worked just perfect...got the frame together, and it was the most fun saying "look hun, I did this all by myself too"... I must admit I was sceptical thinking it would hold heavy items etc... but I can say with all confidence... this is GOING to do the job... it is everything it says it is and more... I am ecstatic we bought them.. was the best best best buy we could have gotten for such a great price... I'm a very happy wife with lots of little odd jobs being completed and done with ease and a smile... Happy !!!!

big on steel poor on paper
as with everything in the Jawhorse line, this is well built and easy to use after you understand its functions. I am however very dissapointed with the "manual". I wouldn't even use the paper in the bathroom! Poor pictures with even poorer descriptions numbers, letters and boxes. I am being a bit harsh for the plywood attachment however this applies to the main unit which I received as a gift.I am so disapointed in the manuals and CD that comes with the main unit, I had to vent here. This stuff is built great and works great. Instead of a 5 languages manual, perhaps they could have spent the money on a detailed manual and CD. Even the plywood attachment needs supports made from 2 X 4's for large sheets. In the CD they just appear! They tell you that they are needed and include fancy clamps for them, but they do not tell you where and how to use all of them!! You must decipher this from the pictures available in the manual and on the CD. I was able to figure it all out by jumping between the manual and CD, but I shouldn't have to and for people that are not regular users of this stuff it could be real frustrating

owesome, heavy duty item.
Really handy when working alone, easy to use, clamps full sheets of plywood. I really like the ability to roll using support leg as handle. This is one heavy duty item.

Own 2 Jawhorse and have Mixed Jaw Sized Option
I own two Jawhorse and have used them together often for large projects variously using either the shorter and extended, foldable jaws. Until this week, I've never had the occasion to mix the jaw sizes. The project was assembling a basketball pole/backboard combination for the arriving grandchildren. After much frustration about how to hold a "round" pole stable while attaching it to a rectangular backboard, I hit upon the great combination of using the shorter jaw for the pole and the longer one for the backboard. Worked Great! BTW, I recently found the large jaw sizes wonderful for the problem of how to hold a wiggly patio screen for stable for new screening.Brian B.

Crap
This came in the box and I was happy to recieve it.I thought to myself this thing is small then when I unpacked it. I was really dissapointed with it. I thought it was a stand alone by the way it looked in the advertisement. Its made with plastic pieces that dosent hold up and its only one bar that attaches to the jaw horse. So unless you have two jaw horses its kind of hard to hook up. (I use my jawhorse to hold my miter saw.) I used the attacment one time and the plastic broke and the bars dropped my project on the ground. I may have had it put together wrong but the pieces just slide onto the jawhorse. This might be alright for someone that dose a lot of wood work and has at least two jaw horses but if your a part timer like me I would leave it alone. I didnt listen to another disappointed customer because so many said it was good for them and maybe it was for them but for me it was crap. The bar is already sitting in a corner collecting rust and I'll probably end up throwing it in the trash after I'm tired of moving it around. It just not what I expected. Sorry Rockwell just my opinion.

not what I expected
I purchased this as a gift for my husband.... unfortunately, I don't know much about tools.... This doesn't come with the stand... that has to be bought seperately. Picture was very deceiving. It did not come with a user manual either!

Not Really Needed
I tried it, but really, when you are working with something that large, the horse is not stable enough. The leg contraption kinda works, but still.....useful enough not to send it back....but not enough to recommend it.

My new worktable
This is another one of the tools I'd seen advertized on HGTV. Since my workshop didn't offer a lot of room I had to find a way to minimize the size of my larger tools. This is an outstanding design that is so easy to use. I built an entertainment center a few weeks back and had to do some small work. The yellow vise unit can be removed, and flipped around. With this flipped around the vise "block" can then be adjusted in order to secure smaller items. I've even purchased the 4x8 plywood sheet extension. I'm glad I made this purchase, the product is well designed and performs exceptionally well.
