The Paleo Slow Cooker

‘There is no limit to learning with cooking. The same ingredients can be cooked in at least ten different ways.’
Emily Simmons is a San Francisco artist and author of diet cookbooks that make healthy eating a culinary delight. Her recipes are so unexpectedly tasty even the most discriminating palettes will find them delicious.Emily takes an artistic as well as a nutritional look at what we eat. Her writing is engaging and fluid. In Paleo Diet books she informed the uninformed regarding Paleo Diet: ‘A Paleo diet is the abbreviated form of Paleolithic diet. Yes, you got it right. It belongs to the food from the Stone Age. It is also known as the Stone Age diet or the Caveman Diet. Do you remember the Flintstones? Fred used to slog in the jungles the whole day to take care of his family. But, you do not have to ride a stone-and-wood car to fetch food from the grocery store. What do we have online shopping for? Sounds easy right? It is actually not very difficult to change your diet plan. To explain it in the simplest of terms, the Paleo diet plan consists of only those foods which were available to our ancient ancestors such as berries, nuts and meat. It does not include foods that they were not yet familiar with, like dairy products. The period ended about 10,000 years ago with the advent of farming. But, our ancestors have given us some very valuable food lessons that we can follow for a healthy life. You do not have to go back to that age and use bone tools, stone and flint. Neither do you have to go fishing, hunting and gathering plant foods. Thank god we have supermarkets that can do this tough job for us.’In this very well written book she ‘modernizes’ the Paleo diet by moving the concept into the slow cooker mode: ‘Slow cooking is a method of cooking which gives you luscious meals with minimum effort. Moreover, this method is also budget-friendly. You need to buy sturdy cuts of different meats for this method so that they can bear the amount of heat over hours and you’ll get flavorsome, hearty meals in the end. Although the cooking time is longer with this technique, the slow-cooked recipes call for relatively less time for preparation. After preparation, you can leave them to simmer on their own. The advantage of the slow cooker method is that you’ll save on the time of washing piles of pots and dishes because all the ingredients are cooked in one pot.’Emily then instructs as to how to shop for a Crockpot and how to care for it, then lists the type of meats to use in slow cooking and tips for slow cooking that get us off to the right start. Then come the superb recipes complete with instructions for preparation and polished off with a colorful photograph of the finished product, recipes such as Chicken musakhan, Pork ribs, Slow cooker roast, Pad Thai chicken with vegetable noodles, Shredded beef with green chili cabbage bowl, Chicken mole crock pot, Salmon head delicious soup, Wraps with pulled chicken, and many more. This is a very complete guidebook – overture to delicious postlude. Exciting Food Waiting for You
Paleo is a new word for me. This time I've experience another situation which says that "Patience is a virtue". I have no idea about buying meat. I haven't done that before because it seems too complicated for me. But this book made it very easy for me. I like the recipes inside. I thought dieting is really a sacrifice but this one is incredibly delicious for my appetite.

Crossother. The paleo slow cooker recipes
Some great looking recipes, but some of the directions are ridiculous or typos- like honey pork say cooking time is 8 hours then directions say cook no low 8to10 hours then a further 7to8hours after that on high. Must be a mistake..Can the author comment on that?
