Included patterns - which were poorly printed (faint and a bit smudged) and require transfer to use. Not a worry if you're accustomed to working with historical patterns, though. The costumes are basic - a leotard, a pleated skirt, a long 'coat', etc. Nothing earth-shattering or unique, limited only by your imagination when putting elements together.

Please believe me when I tell you that I normally don't write Amazon reviews! I was blown away by how great of a reference this book is that I had to leave a review and rating. I'm an intermediate seamstress and love having something like this to quickly reference. They had a bunch of tips and tricks for sewing that I didn't ever think of! Super pleased with this book. If you're into sewing, cosplaying or costuming, regardless of skill level, I definitely think its worth it!

Great book with a ton of useful patterns and advice. I had actually checked this book out from the library and enjoyed it so much, and wanted to gain access to the free patterns, that I bought it. The patterns are a great selection to get you started on making a lot of different things. I’m using the coat pattern (with a changed collar and lapel) to make a Loki (current comic version) cosplay, and I’m using the pants pattern to make a roughly Elizabethan pair of breeches for an SCA fencing outfit. I plan on adapting one of the body suit patterns later for a Scarlet Spider (Kaine Parker version) cosplay. Considering how much these kinds of patterns usually cost individually, I think this book would be a good value for the patterns alone.

This book is suitable and wonderful my company's wardrobe department.

My 19 year old daughter loves cosplay and sewing. She has enjoyed the book and started using it for a couple of costumes.

I've been cosplaying for fifteen years and I love this book! It is great for new cosplayers and an amazing review for experienced ones. I love the patterns and how easily explained they are in the book. Buying a regular pattern, I usually don't even bother with the directions because they are overcomplicated. But this book has great instructions and illustrations, so easy to understand. I can't say enough good things about it.It also has a good variety to cover many types of costumes you'd want to use for cosplay.If you're thinking about getting this book, go for it! This is literally the best book for people just learning to sew who want to focus on cosplay. It has everything you need to know about which tools to use and how to work with the finicky fabrics that cosplay designs often call for. You can use the basic patterns inside the book to build your own costume from several genres! Worth every penny.

Great informations and really useful to have so may patterns in one book!! But the down side is that they are really hard to follow As the pattern are all mixed on 4 pages. It would have been nice to make a different color lining for each model ...

A very useful book bought for my younger daughter. She loved the variety of elements included in the book, most notably a beautiful cape which could be included in a wide range of costumes. My daughter also made the point that so many of the projects contained in this book could also be made for everyday wear. The pleated skirt is an example.

I have enjoyed this book so far and found it helpful. Can be a little confusing and unclear at times but I managed eventually with some trial and error!

Bought this book for my cosplay-loving brother. He was very happy with it. It details making the basic garments required for many different cosplay characters, allowing the individual to adapt the garments as they like. A very useful book.

I use this everytime I make a cosplay!

Not great. Definitely recommend ones by kaumi cosplay instead
