I think it vacuums better than the Hoover I've had for years
Let me just say, "This vacuum SUCKS"!!! Let me just clarify - that is what you want any vacuum to do and this one does it very well. It is extremely quiet, takes up very little space in the garage and looks outstanding!! When we initially installed this vacuum we did not have the hose kit yet so we used a small piece of wire to "jump" the contacts in one of the wall outlets. Needless to say we could not open any of the other outlets due to the suction power. Since acquiring a hose kit the vacuum has not lost any of the suction power. I think it vacuums better than the Hoover I've had for years. The unit can barely be heard. It's loud enough to let you know it is on but you have to be listening for it. Cars driving down the street are usually louder. For the price and quality I do not see how anyone could complain about this unit.

Awesome product
I was replacing an existing vacuum. The unit was easy to install, very quiet compared to my old vacuum and has plenty of power. I like the fact that it is US made too.

Awesome product! Awesome company!
I purchased this unit a little over 3 years ago and it is beyond awesome in performance. Powerful and reliable up until a few weeks ago I started to have an issue, so I reached out to the company to purchase a new bag. The company got back to me immediately and shipped a replacement bag however replacing the bag did little to help. The motor continued to get louder and the suction continued to decrease. Again, I reached out to the company to ask for help, within hours I received a very nice response along with a prepaid return label. While removing the unit from the mount to get ready for return I realized lint and dust had completely clogged the motor intake grill located in the top part of the dirt collection compartment. It took me a few minutes to completely clear the clog and the unit was back to 100%!!If I had to guess, the issue started months prior when the original bag either shifted (or more likely I seated it improperly) which allowed a small amount of dust to bypass the bag with each use.The moral of the story, sometimes a great company sells an inferior product and sometimes an inferior company sells a great product. Very rarely do you get a great company that sells a great product... this is one of those scenarios. If you are on the fence deciding whether to purchase... pull the trigger you will not be disappointed now or years from now.Big thanks to Great Vac/ Prolux for designing and manufacturing such a great product and standing behind it years after purchase.

Not as advertised, sad to say
I bought the Prolux CV12000 wanting the most powerful vacuum available so it could work less on my small 1500 sq foot home. This unit was rated for a 12000 sq ft home. I have minimal vacuum piping and fitting installed so as not to tax the vacuum pressure. What I get is a vacuum that constantly clogs within minutes of the last cleaning. The design of a light weight bean bag to agitate the dust off the filter is a big joke. The built in filter is too fine and clogs as soon as it see dust within minutes of the last cleaning. As far as quality ; the spring hinged port built into the side of the unit broke the first time it was used. The spring went one way, and the hinge pin went another! That port is permanently taped off now so as to get suction. While examining the canister while trying to determine if the unit was actually clogged I listened closely and could clearly hear several vacuum leaks on the canister body at the screws on it's exterior . Since installing the Prolux CV12000 I disconnected it from the house plumbing and use a $50 cheap-o wet vacuum in its place. It runs all day with same suction power and doesn't shut down due to limit switch. Buy a good shop vacuum instead folks.

Powerful and fairly quiet but it failed after 3 years.
It was a big upgrade from our previous Hayden units, more powerful and much quieter, but after only 3 years the unit internally shorted out meaning it turns on when the power switch is on and doesn't turn off. That indicates that the circuit board is toast. This is easily tested just with a meter and probes with no power connection. The dust collection system is so/so, nice to not have to empty but I prefer a bagged/bagless solution. And frankly for the same money you can get more power, less noise and a hose elsewhere.
