This is a very informative documentary that offers a valuable overview of the Communist practice of `disinformation'. For those unfamiliar with the tactics of subterfuge as practiced by the Soviet Union and their Iron Curtain brethren this presentation will be a real eye-opener. Misinformation was spread throughout the West (primarily the United States) via "legitimate" news outlets on the home front. Because these stories were disseminated through non-communist channels they were believed to have credibility.This was a Cold War effort that was tremendously successful in undermining Americans faith in its institutions. By planting erroneous "news" stories the Soviets were able to set the narrative that would influence Western thought. These stories are in circulation to this very day and represent the mainstream interpretation of that era's events. The Soviets and their satellites devoted a tremendous amount of time and treasure to this activity - much more than was expended in espionage and with far greater returns.Two such campaigns were the smearing of Pope Pius XII and the false interpretation of events surrounding John F. Kennedy's assassination. Both campaigns have colored the public's understanding of these two stories to this very day. Disinformation could never have occured without willing accomplices in the media. And these outlets have largely been in the hands of the left for decades. Whether knowingly or not these dupes were acting as the "useful idiots" Lenin had labeled them from the very beginning.Sadly, the seeds of disinformation that were planted during the Cold War continue to bear fruit today. And doctored new stories continue to be circulated with equally successful results. It is imperative that one understands the purpose and effect this tactic has had on our politics and culture. This 2 DVD documentary is ok, I suppose. If one is determined to sit through about 3 hours of saying the same thing over and over again. I have been diligent in recent years in reading all sorts of news sites. I do enjoy WND as they are usually "right winged" if you want to slot them in somewhere. I don't like the ultra left nor the ultra right. I just like the truth without it being tainted by too much leaning one way or the other. This film seems to be leaning way too much Right. It gets worse as it goes on and on. Disinformation is a tale about how people around the world since reporting news began, it seems, have been fed propaganda (disinformation) from day one. Much of the information in the first DVD happened before I was born (I'm 69), and was interesting enough, but went entirely too fast to keep up with the history of it all and impossible for me to cross reference anything. I have no doubt that Communism has been trying to destroy the West for a 100 years or more. I think it was Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev who spoke the words similar to taking the USA from within. This was back in the 50s or 60s. Maybe I remember my mother saying it, or maybe I remember me hearing it on tv...But I've always suspected it to be true. This became more interesting to me when they started to play events during Kennedy's office, and their significance in the attempts to capture America.Yes, they haven't quit, but I wonder who will win the USA first, the Communists or the Islamists. Apparently they are both fighting to win the prize...America. Wish people would listen up.

I found this film to be excellent, full of information I did not know, it certainly makes you think what is going on in the world, I would recommend this film to anyone.
