Relief!
This is my busy time of year with work, seven days a week at the computer. My chair is great on it's own, except when working so much. I don't have back problems at the moment, so I don't know how it would work for that. I did, however, have terribly sore behind from sitting all day every day. I've been using this cushion for about ten days. As some reviewers indicated, the front does get compressed. This does not diminish the comfort. Each day starts the same, the cushion is firm. As I sit, the cushion warms up and provides the perfect comfort level as it adjusts. No more pain by mid day. You may need to adjust your chair height as the cushion adds a bit of height.Update: I have owned my original chair cushion for close to three years. Just purchased a new one. Old cushion is still in OK condition, flattened to 1 1/2 inches from seam to seam in center of each thigh segment. Back is still at 2 inches and does provide some support. (Note: measurements were taken when I got up from seat after sitting continuously for one hour.) Overall, I feel the cushion is compressing and should be replaced. Just short of three years is beyond a satisfactory life considering daily use. I compared original to new that arrived yesterday. The old one has held up quite well. While there is compression, it's not as bad as one would expect for almost three years of use. And the cover of the cusion is in good shape for it's age and wear.

A life saver when back is bad and I have to drive bumpy roads.
Have now had this for a long time, and it has saved me from pain in my behind and back. It especially works well on bumpy roads. It has been a lifesaver when I have had to bring it somewhere with me, especially somewhere with wooden seats. I have not noticed any smell.

Easy to carry
I love the carrying handle – I need it to even out a chair. I’m forced to sit in when I can’t be at my desk. It does the job nicely.

It's fine for short periods of time
I prefer my Aylio cushion. I use the ComfiLife primarily for travel because, even at 134 lbs, it does flatten out. It's fine for short periods of time, but for longer sittings I'd go with a different cushion. The Aylio is better for my desk job. I am noticing a little flattening after 2 months, but I believe that is the memory foam memorizing . . . . Perhaps the ComfiLife simply remembers faster than the Aylio because the Comfilife flattens sooner? They're different materials all around. The ComfiLife is a softer exterior and a squishier interior. I appreciate the handle because I can easily move it from the car to the truck to the doctor's office, or wherever else I might be expecting to sit for more than 15 minutes. My hands are usually full so it's helpful to be able to hold the cushion with one finger.20190714 Update: Do yourself a favor - ScotchGuard it! I did and I'm thankful because this is the one I use in my car and something got on the exterior. I took the cover off and the cushion was untouched. The stuff came right off with a little Shout pretreatment and hardly any scrubbing. I still tossed it in the wash (zipper closed) and then ScotchGuarded it again. Next time I'll try wiping with a damp cloth before I go through the whole rigmarole of removing the cover.I've had this cushion for 22 months now and it's still going strong. I've only had to wash the cover twice and it still looks new. The cushion shows some staining from sweat and the cover rubbing, but otherwise is in excellent condition. I've been 12 months without an arthritic flare up now and I give partial credit to my two cushions, my standing desk, and exercise. Well, a Lot of credit to exercise, but when I don't use my cushions there's a Definite difference in how my joints feel. I can feel it creep into my spine and then radiate to the rest of my back, neck, and shoulders. I even took the Comfilife with me to Costa Rica in March of 2018 because it offers so much relief, and it's the one with the handle.

Really has saved my lower back pain when sitting at my desk!
After getting this, along with the lumbar support for the back of my chair, there is no chair ever as comfortable as is with this one. I carry them to any chair in my house I am sitting on. The only downside is you can't squish it thin and carry it everywhere you go! I do also use it for sitting on my bed. It does seem hard at first, but you have to get used to it. You have to accept that your pain sucks, and it is worth adapting to a big cushion blob on your chair, to end the pain. Give it a few days to break in a bit and you will love it! BTW, I am 5'7, 120 lbs. If you are wondering if it would fit, check the width measurement of it, and you can see how wide it is. I don't know if someone who is wider than the width of the cushion could enjoy it, as your hips/thighs might hang over the edges and would feel weird. The hole in the back seems to be the secret to how this relieves pain, as there is no pressure on the tailbone area when using this. There really isn't any DIY sort of method I can imagine that would work this well. And the lumbar support is also super necessary for sitting at a desk chair! It forces you to sit up with better posture - also takes getting used to if you slouch - but come on people. You can't complain about back pain if you don't accept you need to change how you sit and invest in the "my body is getting old and now I am that person who needs a support cushion and cannot sit in weird positions like I did the first 37 years of my life" cushion. On the plus side, you don't need a fancy new desk chair, because this turns any Ikea crap chair into a super comfortable supportive high-end feeling chair.
