Great radio for the money!
First, it came with only one battery. Additional Product description, states it comes with two batteries. It is smaller than the UV-9G, however that may not be a problem. It seems easier to use and the user manual is one of the best so far. The reason I prefer the UV-9G is because the battery for it is the same as the UV-9R and 9R PRO, Ham version. I have several of both so I was hoping this radio would use the same battery. If you are going to buy one of these, do yourself a favor and buy two of them. They seem to be a very good radio. You can't beat $25 price tag, even if I didn't get the second battery. Better check to see if you can even buy additional batteries. Go to Baofeng store to buy batteries. I have many Baofeng radios and the newer ones from Baofeng, not a copy, keep getting better. I have never had a problem with the dozen or so that I have had. As I am a amateur radio operator, I also have some really expensive HT's. There is a big difference in features and huge cost difference, however they both transmit and receive. I keep a Baofeng in my truck and car all the time, just in case I have to leave my vehicles as they have hard mounted radios.

Great Radio, Great Price
It’s hard to beat these little radios. Perfect for on trail use with my jeep club. I purchased this particular model because it was pre-programmed with the channels I needed. Easy to use with good sound quality available in several colors. Battery lasts all day with constant use.

It's a good little radio!
It's a good little radio. We get about 6-7 mile range at night and a little less during the day where I live. We use them for events. Please keep in mind that a FCC license is required to use these. The license fee is about $35, no test required.

Perfect for truck group trail runs
This radio is perfect for our truck club's group trail runs. Its ability to effortlessly switch between two channels for main traffic and side chats makes communication a breeze. Not to mention, its robust build quality means it can handle being tossed around, dropped, and thrown. It feels reminiscent of the old mil spec radios from back in the day—solid and reliable. Plus, the green color adds a nice touch! I recommend this radio to anyone looking to purchase one for group runs. BUT... WARNING... I must issue a warning based on my own experience: my first purchase of this radio was defective, as the TX (transmit) function didn't work at all. It was incredibly disappointing to discover this during my first trail run. Despite reaching out to BAOFENG for assistance, they were unable to help me since I had purchased it from a third-party Amazon dealer. Thankfully, I was still within the return window for Amazon, so I returned it and purchased two more radios (an excuse for me to buy two, really). So, test it early! Despite this, I still recommend this radio. Just don't let the return window close before giving it a good test. The good news is that both of the replacement radios worked perfectly fine. Now, with the second radio, I regularly lend it out to people on our group runs who either don't have communication devices or have forgotten theirs. Being able to provide support to others in this way brings me a great sense of satisfaction. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, this radio has proven to be an invaluable asset to our group outings.

Works very well
Loved the price, great little radio! My husband said he can hit repeaters with it and talk to people 5 miles without the repeater and hits repeaters from 35 miles away to talk with people 2200 miles away when repeaters are linked! It’s great, he loves it!

Decent but there are better buys
Decent little GMRS radio but lacks the ability to use chirp programming software to customize it, which is a deal breaker for me. There are too many other options out there for GMRS radios that work with chirp which puts this radio at the bottom of the list. The battery last a while and it's easy to operate but forget about customizing it. If your in the market for a GMRS radio and have no intention to customize it the go for it as it works fine out of the box.

Great radio for the cost
Talking to wife 3.5 miles away she is inside and talking to son 5 miles away. Nice not too hard to learn how to use.

Better than I expected
These little radios are awesome. I got a few different antennas and they work great long range! I mainly use them for kayak fishing and they never let me down.
