Brightest flash for your dollars
Nothing negative about this light. Only reason I had to buy it was to replace the one I lost when my bag fell off the rack and someone stopped and grabbed it and it was gone. I knew immediately that I wanted replace it with the same light. Bright, water resistant, tough,(my old light survived several crashes) and best of all, takes 2 AA's. Got those on Amazon too. 1900 mah NiMeH last over 7 hours in blink mode, then about 12 more in solid on mode. I do this to completely drain the batteries so I can recharge them on the same schedule as my headlight. I own a more expensive, brighter USB charged taillight, (I use them both at the same time) but this one is by far the brightest flash for your dollars.

Solid light with a design flaw
Inexpensive yet very bright and reliable. I've had the Blackburn Local 15 Rear Light on my bike while riding in heavy rain, snow and extreme cold, and it's performed consistently in all conditions. Battery life is good and I've only had to replace batteries once, after 6 months of regular night commuting (about an hour from work to home). The light has three On modes: (1) constantly on, (2) steady on/off flash, (3) several quick flashes followed by about 1 second off.Prior to this I had a Blackburn Mars 3.0 rear light that I was very happy with, but my bike was stolen with the attachment unit still on the seat post so now the only way to use the light is to clip it to my belt or backpack, which isn't very secure. The Mars 3.0 has been discontinued, so I bought the Local 15.As mentioned above, I'm generally happy with the new model. The only criticism I have is with the attachment unit. It is a basic bracket with a silicone strap that you wrap around the post. With seat posts that slant backwards, you end up with the light facing slightly downward. I don't doubt that motorists can still see the light but it would be optimal to have the light facing directly backwards at following traffic, like tail lights do on cars. The angle is not a problem on my errand bike, where the light is attached to my rear rack and faces straight back. But it is noticeable on my commuter bike, where the light is attached to the seat post and tilts downward. The old Mars 3.0 had an attachment unit that allowed you to adjust the angle of the light, which is a feature common in the better bike lights. It’s unfortunate that Blackburn decided not to incorporate that into their new models.Bottom line: the light works well and is a great value. The only reason it doesn’t qualify for 5 stars is the downgraded attachment unit.

Love this light!
Great product. It flashes nice and bright. I feel that since I got this light (to replace a couple that were not very satisfactory), I have become more visible and cars are being more careful when then need to pass me. Also, I can't believe has long the battery lasts. My biggest problem is forgetting to turn off the light after a ride. Last weekend, it was on for 4 days, that is about 100 hours and it is still going!

Great, simple to use
Great, simple to use. Place it anywhere it will wrap around. I have it on back left hand seat stay. You just have to remember to turn it off!! It has three settings, solid, bling, and strobe. I use strobe as I believe it gives you the best battery time. Highly recommended!!

Nice finishes but annoying in practice
I really wanted to like this product. I switched from my tried and true planet bike super flash to this in the hopes of using a solid metal made light that took AA batteries to match my front light (less backup battery types to have to carry around). This light is heavy in a good way. However I did not find this light to be as bright as my planet bike super flash. The LEDs might be brighter, but since they have no focusing lens , they make less of a visual impact than the super flash. I also found it difficult to swap batteries on this light and easy to marr the finish around the area where you pop the light open.In the end I went back to the planet bike super flash. The blackburn light was close but just off the mark.I do like that it takes AA rechargeable batteries. People love these USB based lights , but if that port / connector fails or the little tiny li-on battery degrades you are out of luck and now you just have a waste of plastic that will find its way to the ocean. The AA/AAA batteries are simpler and easier to fix contact points if something gets dirty. Unlike the little tiny 200-600mah lion rechargeable ones, you can just get new rechargeable AA batteries easily when they start to lose their capacity. My planet bike superflash was 10 years old before it was stolen and it probably would have lasted another 10. We should be aiming to buy things that *last* decades not years.

All Claber products seem to be of a good quality. I have used to install watering system in greenhouse with drippers, overhead sprinklers and a timer - and all working perfectly. You need to take a little time to plan your system as nobody seems to give guidance on spacing of sprinklers etc. but that may not be surprising as depends on water pressure.
