Clean Kamut berries!
Tastes great in my baked goods and I found the grains to be very clean. No chaffe. I have only used it for bread and rolls but want to try it in cookies next. I like to mix it with other wheat berries as well.

The World's Best Wheat
I have a home/ cottage business selling whole wheat bread to my neighbors, and Kamut is my primary grain of choice. It makes a wonderfully sweet, light golden colored bread. I can't get over the flavor. No other wheat compares to this. Since Kamut is not as high in gluten as hard red or white wheat, I use it in a ratio of 3/1 with white wheat to get the proper gluten development for bread baking. If you are going to be eating this as a whole grain (and not grinding it) or using it for pancakes or muffins (which it is superb for) the lower gluten in a plus. These packages do not hold a lot of wheat if you want to bake very much bread, but it is a great way to try out this unique type of wheat and see what you think. It may seem a little expensive, but Kamut is a trademarked grain, and the trademark holders require it to by grown organically. It is not GMO. When you see the brand name Kamut, you can trust you are getting a high quality wheat.

We love it!
Nourishing Traditons suggests using this grain. We grind it and soak it overnight or as directed in bread recipes. My husband really loves the flavor, and he is hard to please. He usually buys white flour to make buscuits and I normally use Spelt for everything with occassional buckwheat, barley, and a few other grains.I will have to find a bulk bag to fit our family ( 9 and growing!) But this was a good deal to try it out. It is easy to work with, with the exception of fermented pizza dough. I had to keep adding flour and it was still a bit gooey when I finally baked it. I need to research, and as of now I think whole grains fermented just are harder to work with in these types of baking. ( my buscuits did the same thing).

I gave 4 stars because the quality is great for what it is intended
I gave 4 stars because the quality is great for what it is intended. I tried to grind it to use as a flour. It works ok for that but if you cook it more like quinoa or nuts it is a lot better. As a flour it is nutritious but does not rise very well at all. Again, If you just cook it and use it in salads, as a topping etc it is great but as a grain ground into flour, it's probably 3 stars.

Pending further experiments..may raise the rating...
Maybe it's an acquired taste...? Kinda like a cross between brown rice and a bean..? I cooked it for a long time..and finally put it in individual baggies and froze it. Will add to soups and stews this winter. Maybe I didn't do it right...will ck further for tips/recipes. Keeping an open mind.

What a yummy grain—great alternative to rice and quinoa!
Worried about arsenic in rice? Switch to kamut! Trust me, it’ll be your new favorite grain!!! Great nutty taste, chewy but not weird chewy, just a great taste and mouthfeel, even plain. Much better than rice or quinoa, and the same amount dry seems to plump up and make mow, too. The gluten is far more natural in kamut than other wheat berries. Like I said, no arsenic, and versatile!! You can eat it instead of oatmeal, use both in both hot and in cold salads, and, I suppose, you could grind it for flour!Product arrived fast, very well packaged. And at a price that can’t be beat! I will be ordering Bob’s Red Mill Kamut over and over!
