Great little amp
Works great for me as a beginner drummer! I would suggest once you become more advanced, with acoustic drums, invest in something that has more power for sound.

No nearly loud enough to function as a drum amp
I have a separate 30w amp that will blow your ear drums out on full blast. I crank this amp all the way up and can still barely hear it over the clicking of my stick on my drum kit. Definitely not for the price tag for how little volume you get out of it.

This thing sounds great, and I am not just saying that.
I have an Alesis DM7X Electronic drum set and I am surprised at how good it sounds for its middle of the road price range. I usually pump it through my PA system with twin EV 15" PA cabinets with huge horn tweeters, overall weighing in at 80 pounds each. Since I am not out playing gigs, I wanted something a little tamer for home use. This HXWDM30 is perfect for that. I'm not saying with it 30-watt cabinet that you couldn't play a small venue with it because you can. It's not junk. You can crank it to full volume without any distortion. I was playing my Alesis SR-18 drum machine through it, and all but the uttermost high settings including full volume and full bass do you get a thumping loud sound without any distortion; at full volume, and full bass you can make it break up a little bit. The good news is that you don't need the bass maxed at 10 to get some really deep thumping, room pounding bass out of it.I was really excited to get this, and it did not disappoint. I have my Fender Blues Deluxe Tweed Tube amp in my main bedroom, and am playing a wide array of guitars including Strat’s, Tele’s, and LPs through it and at comfortable listening levels, which is the only way I want to hear it, this drum amp keeps up; it's surprising the sound for an amp this size. When I picked up the box from delivery, I was surprised at how heavy it was, as in a no-nonsense piece of gear. Once I got it out of the box, and picked it up by the collapsible handle on the top, it was a lot more manageable. Actually, it is 16.53 lbs. gross weight, so I guess I am giving away my age. I'm leaving it setup in my bedroom studio, and when the roommates are home, I will be turning it way down. So, here is the bottom line. It provides a real deep thump and thwack, something you would expect out of a JBL or an Altec Lansing speaker, and at surprising levels for a speaker at this size. I have a Fishman Loudbox Mini amp which is the perfect mate to this with its two-channel setup, one for acoustic guitar, with chorus, reverb etc. and a separate one for voice with reverb too. They both even look similar in their color combination and size. The Fishman is the number one selling gig able acoustic amp, and this Avatar should be its equivalent in the drum amp segment. I really am in love with this.It also has separate inputs for drum and music. It also has a Bluetooth function so if you are doing a gig it serves as a music/song platform device in between sets. With separate bass, middle, and treble settings you can dial in just the right amount of each. Highly recommended. One final note. Upon further examination I wouldn't be buying this to use it as a guitar amp. The volume is too low, and it has a boxy kind of sound for a guitar, and the lack of reverb is not a plus either. This amp totally shines as a percussion amp to be used with an electronic drum set or a drum machine. It is really impressive with percussion. It's crazy good for the money.

Connects with my electronic drum kit
The Avatar functions as a dual channel amplifier and a personal monitor equipped with Bluetooth. The amplifier is relatively lightweight but very sturdily built. It feels solid and the speakers are protected with a metal grill. The amplifier has three standard EQ settings. It has two inputs one for drums and one for any other musical device. It has separate volume and inputs for your dual channels. The amplifier also connects to Bluetooth. It is ideal for connecting to an electronic drum kit hook up.In terms of sound, the amplifier covers full range frequency. It has an 8 inch woofer and a 2 inch tweeter. They both appear to be high-quality and handle high volumes very well. Overall sound quality is excellent. Ease-of-use is also excellent.

Great sounding amp for guitar or bass as well as music speaker.
Build Quality:The Build quality of the speaker is excellent. It feels sturdy like an amp should. It has high quality electronic controls, thick particle board sound box, heavy duty handle and speaker grate and a high quality speaker.Sound Quality:This speaker sounds great and is very loud and has some excellent bass. Don't let the 30 watt rating fool you, this speaker is very loud and all frequencies sound great! As an amp:This speakers sounds great with both guitars and basses. As Bluetooth:We use the speaker as a music speaker for parties. It pairs easily and sounds great.Sound ControlThe 3 channel EQ functions well.Final thought:I highly recommend this amp for both a instrument amp and a Bluetooth speaker. It is high quality and sounds great.

Nice little amp with punch.
HXW DM30 Electric Drum Amp 30 Watt Bluetooth Personal Monitor Dual Channel Amplifier for Electronic Drum Set, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass, Wooden EnclosureI ran my bass through a distortion pedal/ cab simulator into this little amp and it sounded great. I must admit I was pretty surprised. I wasnt expecting much but i find myself using it over my old rickenbacker for quick unfocussed sessions. Where i just want to jam out some riffs and play around. I would consider this an outstanding practice amp. Like legit decent sounding with some power. Its small and portable, so it would probably suffice for small jam sessions with buds. Especially with cab simulators all you need is a clean amp to push the modulated sound out and this does that. So take your pedal or laptop plug in and good to go.Recommended.
