Ray Comfort - hero of the faith
To be patient while being truthful is a kindness. What this book shows me is that true love, the love of the Jesus Christ, God the Father & the Holy Spirit will make one patient and kind. Ray Comfort has spent many years and written many books and responses aimed at one ultimate goal - the salvation of the spiritually dead & lost, those whose blindness prevents them from seeing the terrible end that they can't avoid - the day of judgement. What is so masterful & heroic is that he always keeps that goal in mind, and it can only make the one who loves the Lord cry out: Onward, Christian soldier! May all who profess the name of Christ courageously charge forward in the same blazing passion for the salvation of souls.

Everyone should read this!
This is not your typical Q&A book. These are real questions--deep questions--that both believers and non-believers ask. Ray Comfort then answers these questions with respect, logic, and facts from history. These facts are then all backed up by Scripture itself! I highly recommend this book for everyone--skeptics, especially. Ray leaves no stone unturned. As a believer, I still have questions which Ray has been able to answer solidly. I can't say enough good about this book. Get it! It's in an easy-to-read format so anyone could understand it. Use it to answer those in your family who ask you tough questions. The answers are NOT pat answers, but sincere and to the point. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Not that solid
I like Ray Comfort's works in general. In particular, The Way of the Master and the evangelism tools. For that matter, also, inasmuch as the Way of the Master is solid on theological foundations of salvation and evangelism, it is also weighted in only one direction and that formula doesn't always work that way. There are thousands of other approaches to evangelism than to ask a person if they have ever told a lie. This book, the Defender's Guide, in my opinion will not work well in the streets. I have been doing street evangelism for many years and the answers in this book are too simplistic and won't hold water with people who think and reason, especially secular humanists or others who just don't agree on the Bible being God's revelation to man. It is a decent primer on apologetics but the average thinking unbeliever could poke holes in it rather easily. I would not want some young Christian get this book and use these arguments. They would get shut down. A thourough knowledge of God's Word is the best apologetic. Answering the real questions of this hard and difficult life is what gets people to see how the CROSS has all the answers. Ultimately it's not some clever argument that brings people to Jesus. "Blessed are those who don't see and yet believe!!!" I believe you'd be better off reading the book of Romans fifty times (I mean this literally) over a month's period of time. Any brother or sister who does this will be fully equipped to answer most questions asked them and to lead them to Jesus.

Love it
Broken down into 5 categories, Ray does a good job of answering common questions with Biblical authority answers. Always thankful to see Ray not only give a defense/response for questions and objections, but more importantly challenges with the Gospel message - it is the Gospel that is what changes heart and minds. Ray challenges people to have a higher view of God and His holiness and a lower view of man and his sinfulness in need of a Savior.

a good instruction manual
A bit redundant in places, but overall, a good instruction manual.

Defenders guide
Ray Comfort is one of the leading apologetic speakers out there. Excellent book. Simple and to the point! Ray doesn't get caught up in the debates so many "non" believers want to debate on. A must for those that want to reinforce the fact there really is a God.....and there is a hell! Choice is yours! Good book!

A useful, practical reference
Question and answer format is easy to pick up and read. Author is specific in responding to questions obtained from an online atheist blog; uses logic, examples and facts to support his responses. His heart for the spiritual welfare of the blogger is evident. His "voice" can appear to be a little strong but not sarcastic.

Buy This Book!
I love Ray Comfort's straight-to-the-point answers. He doesn't get sidetracked into useless arguments but steers the questioner to the heart of what's really important. I have been a Christian for over 30 years, and I am still learning things from this book. Highly recommended!

A good apologetic work
A mixed bag of questions and responses. Some answers...well...simply don't answer the difficulty but others are straight to the point. A useful ground work nonetheless. There is a great deal of food for thought here that will stimulate the reader to add his own thoughts and opinions.

Good to dip into and out of
Good to dip into and out of, or just to sit and read. Sharp remarks and wit - as is expected with Ray Comfort, but sound defence of the Truth.

Helpful book
A small and easy to read book. It is filled with common 'street-talk' styled language on how questions are asked, and answered!

Five Stars
Very entertaining, no nonsense "back at you" responses to simplistic challenges to the Christian faith from "angry atheists."
