Other Ever Afters: New Queer Fairy Tales (A Graphic Novel)

I've followed Mel Gillman's art online for a long time but this is the first physical copy of their work I've owned. I love it.

I really love this collection. Fair warning though--a lot of these stories do not get tied up neatly. Ambiguous endings are really fun for some people, but if that is not your thing, this might not be the collection for you. I loved it anyway, but I wish I'd gone in knowing that some comics ended without a tidy resolution. Still, this is an amazing collection that deserves more attention. I'm anxious to see what the author does next.

The illustrations are beautiful, the stories incorporate a more diverse set of characters, and display healthier boundaries, but the stories themselves are really lacking. There’s little in the way of character emotion or depth, there are no satisfying endings, the stories just feel pointless.

Worth owning to go back to with different perspectives over time. Gorgeous illustrations.

The goose girl was my favorite story!!! I liked all the stories and wish I had even more!!! The artwork was great as well!!!
