Best dye I've used.
Fiebings dyes are top notch. Consistent color, good penetration. The pro dye is so much better than Fiebings standard dyes.

I was impressed
I found two free leather sofas on Craigslist that were faded very unevenly by the sun. They were also a burgundy color. I deglazed the sofas with an alcohol/lemon juice mixture and then dyed them with Fiebing's Professional Oil Dye in chocolate. The dye did an amazing job with consistent color on each area, both sun-faded and the original color of the leather.I also used the dye on an old braided synthetic fiber rug. I didn't want a crunchy texture of paint, so I decided to experiment with oil dye. (Rit dye did nothing, as if I had painted it with water color.) It was a mess, and it took an insane amount of dye for a 6x9 rug (about 48 ounces total) but it worked, as a first step. The biggest problem was that the dye wasn't color-fast as it is on leather. It came right off on my hands, even after 3 days of drying. Makes sense, since it's a leather dye, not a fiber dye, right? I ended up sealing the dye on the rug with watered down paint (again, to avoid crunchiness) in a color that closely matched the dye. If I hadn't used the dye, the paint wouldn't have had enough coverage in the water-down form (I checked on the side I didn't dye. No good.) I don't recommend this crazy project, it was way too expensive and one heck of a mess, but I do have a lovely brown braided rug under my kitchen table now. Bottom line, the dye is good stuff.

Works ver well. I used it to stain a reddish-brown couch espresso, and the results are great. I used acetone to remove the old protective coating and then rubbed this stain on with a sponge. It looked terrible at first, but I went back and buffed it when it was dry for great results. You definitely need a protective coating on top or everything that touches your newly stained leather will change colors.
