appears to be some sort of molded plastic or the like. The handle is rubberized plastic. If you are any sort of actual director. don't get it. the balance is off, it is uncentered, and it feels heavy in the hand. If you are like me, a choir kid who conducts for his school handbell choir and needed anything to help the choir see, it is a good cheap find.

The handle is 2 inches long and the whole baton including the handle is 15 inches long.

Q: Does it come in a case?

They come wrapped individually in plastic, then in a package. There is no case, just two plastic sleeves in bubble wrap.
