I really like this holster for my M&P Shield 9mm. I actually purchased this holster before I ever bought my pistol. I figured if I go ahead and buy the holster for $25 then I wouldn't have a choice but to go get the handgun I've been waiting to get for 5 years. The holster came and and a couple days later I got my Shield 9mm.When I first got the holster, which was delivered a day early by the way, I inspected it carefully. The leather is genuine and of nice quality. The outside of the holster has a nice finish. The inside of the holster is what you would expect to see of the opposite side of a piece of leather. It is naturally raw and unfinished like the outside. This unfinished surface helps keep the gun in place. once it is in the holster it doesn't move until you make it move. My M&P fits exceptionally well. It really fits snugly. I don't think I could have found a better holster of similar fashion, fit, and quality. I've looked at others in my local gun stores and sporting goods stores, but didn't find anything that I thought I would like well enough. I found this one for a fraction of the price and I really like this holster.But (oh come on! there is a but in every 4 star review), this holster is not going to work me for its intended purpose. I planned on using this holster for concealed carry, but because of it being constructed of a soft leather it collapses when you pull the pistol and is very difficult to re-holster. I have only tried to position it inside my waist on my right hip. It may work better in the waist directly behind my back, but I assume the holster will be even more difficult to re-holster due to collapse and not being able to see exactly where you are trying to insert the muzzle of gun. Being right handed I am wishing the belt clip was on the other side of the holster. This way I could at least open carry my side arm. I will regularly use this holster, but only in my vehicle. It works perfectly for the spot I have chosen to place it. The clip holds it very securely and it doesn't move once in place. To anyone that wants to use this holster for open carry on the left hip or only in your vehicle I absolutely recommend this holster. It is a very nice holster.

Fantastic holster... Regardless of price. Would have expected to pay 2x the price. Great retention and the "leather" is nice and pliable.The clip is strong, overall quality is excellent... Very happy

The holster works well and it is advertised for 9mm and 40mm the comments that hate on it seem to come from 45 owners who can't read....

Carrying a S&W .40 isnt the easiest they are slightly large and bulky but it's what I use. I decided to use this product after many failed purchases. I like the leather feel. It isnt bulky and forms around the gun nicely. There are only a few downfalls..For one the clip is very flimsy I've had it get hung on the seatbelt or in a chair and get pulled back a bit and no longer grips tightly around my belt and pants.. I had to put it in a vise and bend it back to be able to use it again. Another downfall is if your pants come down your gun falls out. While using the bathroom or changing when I pull my shorts down the holster stays on but the gun can easily slip out. Kind of awkward at a public place.

While I prefer a Kydex holster do to retention issues, this is a great little alternative. I typically carry outside the waistband with a small Kydex holster, but I wanted to pick up something quick and inexpensive for inside the waistband carry. I’ve been using this holster for several months now, and see no issues with it. Despite being a suede leather, the opening is reinforced and I have no issues reholstering one handed. I wouldn’t want to get into a hand to hand fight while wearing this as I worry about it falling out in a dynamic situation like that, but I have seen no issues so far. The holster and pistol sit deep in the waistband, which helps with retention, though it makes drawing more difficult. I find this holster best for appendix carry and 4-5 o’clock.
