Master LockPro Series R

As the other reviewers have said, the dials are hard to rotate. One almost does not move, it is so stiff. It seems just to be a low quality in the precision of the manufacturing. On a positive note, this is one heavy duty lock that should be hard to defeat.

We use one of these locks on a mini-storage garage. I bought it because it was the only one I could easily find that has the larger 3/8" shackle (better cut resistance) and the number dials on the bottom. It gets locked and unlocked several times a day by me, my installer, and FedEx/UPS drivers. After about three months now, it has held up fine. One thing I like is that once the numbers are dialed in, you just pull and the lock open; others I have used require a push and a pull which seems to confuse the drivers. You do have to manually scramble the dials after the shackle is closed which has been a problem a couple of times when a driver forgot to do that, and the lock looked locked but it wasn't. A nice feature would be to have the dials automatically get reset to zero when the shackle is closed, but then again its not an expensive lock. The dials were stiff in the beginning but they have become much easier to spin with use and some oil. One sort of goofy thing is that you line the numbers up along a line that is one click forward on the lock rather than directly along the bottom of the lock, and that has confused a few drivers as well. I have found it to be a good solid lock except for the stamped metal plate on the bottom where the dials are; Its pressed into the lock casing, and I sometimes worry that the plate could be pried or smashed out. However, in my experience, a bad-guy is going to try and cut a shackle rather than anything else. All in all, its been a decent lock.

Lock may be secure, but it has to be on the combination to lock it, which means you have to leave the combination accessible and some one may see it. I bought this for use at the gym and I like to be able to roll the tumbler so the combination is not visible to some one walking by. As we know gyms are a great place to get stuff stolen so why make it easier for thieves????? Long story short...... I had to buy another lock. NOT recommended.As for the seller, Good price, fast shipping

I think they will do great for our Scout troop. We had others that were not the same quality and were useless after a couple of years in the rain.

Simply put, this lock is not what I expected from a Master Lock. Combination rollers were rough and stuck in one place making is virtualy impossible to roll into the selected combination. Would definately not recommend this product.

These locks a great! Easy to customize to your own code and no key is required.Like the one star review I was confused at first when opening the lock. The confusion lies with how to line up the numbers. They don't line up in the middle. You can see a line one notch above the top of the dials. This is where you line up your combination. Not the top of the dials.Other styles come with a preset combination number. I believe this comes set at 0000. Unless you buy it used or returned. Did that once but luckily is was set on the combination and I checked it out before i spun the dials to 0000.Used to buy the less expensive version with the little key you need to reset the combination. You never seem to have the reset key on you when you need it. I've also bent a couple of those keys trying get the combination reset.I own several of these and they all have worked well. One of the few times i prefer to pay more for a quality product.

Misleading advertisement!!! Only one lock arrives. Double the normal price.

This is a good lock. With that said it said it came in a 4 pack but received only 1. The manufacturer said they only advertised 1. I said t was going to return it because I was under the impression for $25 I was purchasing 4 locks and not 1. They said no problem to return it. I will never buy from this Company again.
