Rush Showing Grace Under Pressure
Another 5 star book on Rush, covering the 80's ups and downs.Biggest difference between this and volume 1 is the almost total lack of quotes from other bands that supported/toured with the band.Have to say though i did enjoy the anecdote recalling a massive GIRUY to Joe Perry,Canadians kill you with kindness ha ha.Despite my interest waning slightly from the mid 80's before being re-energised in the 90's i still found this a really good read, indeed finished across 2 days.some great quotes from band and producers alike open a window into the thought process behind the 80's releases and maybe raise a few eyebrows. For me,at least, vindication re my long held view that 'Exit Stage Left' is not the great live album its held up to be and rather ,a poorly produced and bit of a thrown together affair. and i quote 'we recorded a fairly sterile live album' & ''apart from any drums, they replaced almost everything'.The most enjoyable chapters for me relate to the stepping stone of 'Permanent Waves', the best album they ever released 'Moving Pictures' and the vastly underrated 'Signals' it brought back many memories. The remaining chapters reveal the albums released from 84 thru 89 that the band had many doubts before ,during and indeed after they were recorded, all members having these thoughts at different times over the years.Makes for interesting reading, dont hesitate buy and enjoy.

Being drawn into how the albums were devised
As an avid fan of RUSH since the late 70's, this book has immersed me into how three of my favourite albums came about, the extent to which they were crafted, and the detail of how each member played such an interlinking part - not to mention the signature changes!A read that gave me such clarity after all these yearsA book that to me has been worth far more than the asking price.A must have.

Rush Fan? I strongly suspect you'll want to read this book.
The story is not as interesting as their early years covered in Anthem, nor the anecdotes quite as amusing but then few things compare to an origin story. Nevertheless, equally well written and researched and many interesting insights into the dynamic era that was the 80s for Rush. A nice little bonus was that it made me re-listen to Presto a few more times to confirm it wasn't quite as much of the dud I thought it had been ever since its release (certain great songs excluded of course)!

Great read!
Mr. Popoff really digs into the 80s Rush recording output. This read is rich in detail and fact. A great read I highly recommended for any Rush fan!

Rush it's Rush...
Como disse Gene Simmons (Kiss): "Rush it's Rush". Mais um livro, capa dura, imita couro realmente e traz a trajetória da banda nos anos '80. Todo em inglês e poucas fotos... Se quiserem mais imagens, não recomendo. Para fotos, aconselho o "Album by Album" do Popoff. Porém, se lê língua inglesa, superrecomendado!

Great follow up to the 70s book
I liked both 70s rocking Rush and synth heavy 80s Rush so was looking forward ro this edition. Details galore.
