Great Concept
The concept is great and it works well, hence the 5 star rating. The construction seems to be fairly good quality and the thing held onto my flashlight pretty well. I think whatever one chooses to attach this to though, will have to be a fairly rigid surface (if you're not wanting the flashlight to not flop around).Unfortunately it doesn't serve my intended application (which is not the fault of the product, so no points off for that). I was needing something to allow me to attach a forward facing flashlight to one of the shoulder straps on my Camelbak Rogue hydropack (for visibility during nighttime running) - the straps are far too malleable for the mount to attach to. For my application, I'm thinking that this would have worked better if it was simply the elastic material with the Velcro.I'm going to see if this will hold a flashlight to the handlebars of my mountain bike for nighttime riding.

handy little things
Handy little things. Like the description says the straps are elastic so if you have something with a larger diameter it will hold that much tighter. I got 2 of these for the Privateer cap but then realized I can use them on my boat to temporarily fasten a light or something else. You can also run them through thicker slits of molle webbing - I tried it on my Hazard 4 Kato and it works great (second row on the front is the wider molle row). You can also run them through the padded shoulder strap to fasten something on the outside.

Disc bends
I found this quite useful for attaching flashlights of various sizes to the handle, but the product has one significant flaw. The discs where the two parts attach are somewhat flexible, and with the tension of the velcro they curve apart, so the velcro has a much smaller surface to grip on each side. So the flashlight wiggles around, this product does not provide a firm grip.

Tech divers, keep your power inflator hose neatly where it goes.
I have a technical diving scuba gear set which includes a "DIR style harness" on a backplate and wing. I use this product to keep the power inflator hose from swinging loose. It fits so perfectly, you'd think it was made for that purpose. Both sides of the product, since one is smaller, it fits perfectly on the hose and the other side goes neatly around the webbing of the harness. We'll see how it holds up to the ocean but I think as long as I rinse between dives, which I do anyway, it should last. I elevate the hose to deflate the wing and use the velcro to keep it where it goes.*edit* A year and several hundred dives later it still works perfectly to hold my inflator hose in place. It's a little faded and stiff but it doesn't look like it will fail in anther year. Considering how neatly my gear is trimmed and streamlined, this little thing has been outstanding. I had some pile tape sewn onto the webbing and now I just use the hook side with the smaller attachment straps. So I'm using half of this item as part of my scuba kit. It's more durable than a lot of the stuff that was actually made for diving.

Slips and vibrates without further modification
Difficult to make a solid non-slip mount on metal handlebars as there's no foam or rubber on the bottom part. Also, headlamp jiggles/rotates slightly under cycling conditions because strap is partly elastic and the velcro circle can jiggle back and forth, even though mount part is solid. While it might not fall off, it doesn't make for predictable lighting. For bicycle applications, I much prefer the non-elastic velcro and rubber design of the Two Fish style headlight holders and their knockoffs. Two Fish Lockblocks Flashlight Holder

Total waste and false advertising
It comes with two holders that are supposed to work with the Hazard hat, but only one of the holders actually attached because they use opposite types of Velcro. Total waste and false advertising.

Works perfect for my bike helmet load/unload bikes at night
I don't use the Hazard 4 Nightcrawler Universal Flashlight holder on my bike or bike helmet when riding. I mounted the first Velcro pad to the side of my bike helmet and attach the small flashlight to second half to use to load/unload bikes during night rides. You don't even notice the Velcro pad on my black mat colored bike helmet. The night ride before purchasing this; I forgot to zip up my black rack bag on the bike carrier (because it was too dark to see) and half my stuff bounced out the bag on the ride home.

Great idea, poor fabrication
This device is a great idea and the design is good, but it's made with poor materials. Elastic is cheap quality and was torn on arrival; even so it would not stand up long with any regular use. Too bad.
