Lovely design-coloring, inside or outside your place. Nice sound...being lower sound, better heard for many aged people with frequency loss, over the usual high pitched chiming of metal tubes. No huge wind, and you'll hear it...catches wind quite a bit better than my 3 tube chimes. ANY wind chime can catch wind better than original, by changing the bottom hanging wind attachment to a lighter/bigger one, like a piece of curled cardboard works well. More soothing sound than tube chimes, especially if bamboo windchime is close by. Top hanging hook is round circle. Strung together with decent string, so appears will stay together for awhile. The strings holding the top cover are hanging wrong, so top cover is not exactly level. Guess you could play around with the hanging strings, but this is barely noticeable. Hanging on covered porch, away from sun and rain, but will update if weather affects it. The cut-out parts of the bamboo tubes catch wind too, although they are not super light. Hope your neighbors are not bugged by the chime sounds...my 2 close neighbors kinda hard of hearing....no complaints here ! UPDATE UPDATE - Today is day two of having receiced the chimes - I'm more impressed today because a slight chime sound starts at low volume, for not much wind. More wind then gets louder. This bamboo chime is first to make its' presence known, among my 4 chimes here in florida--some wind most every day, where I am. Wonderful good size chime and good price !

My intent was to purchase a bamboo windchime with deep, ringing tones and hang it outside the window of my second story bedroom...out of sight. Because of this, I wasn't too concerned with the aesthetics of the chime, I simply wanted good sound that would mysteriously creep into the room when the wind kicked up...which, unfortunately, isn't too often in the suburbs of LA County. When I unpackaged this beauty, however, I knew I wasn't going to be able to "mysteriously" hang it anywhere--it's too beautiful. So, although it did make it outside the window of my bedroom, it's in plain sight so that I can enjoy the delicately burned in/painted on plumeria design and warm color, which are an absolute pleasure to look at. Another reviewer mentioned that this baby can pick up even the tiniest breeze...and they were right. Even though the flutes of this chime are somewhat heavy and large (to give it the lovely deep tones that it has,) it still catches tiny breezes and sends lovely sound through the room--a thrilling quality for me, considering that any form of "wind" is hard to come by in this area. Essentially, this was the perfect windchime for my purposes: deep, rich sound, picks up the tranquil breeze, and is (in my case, surprisingly) beautiful to look at. For the price, it can't be beat!

The bamboo chimes make such a cool sound when the wind blows. They are a fun addition to our deck.

I was a little nervous about ordering a wind chime online, since a lot of wind chimes have high pitched, annoying sounds. I ordered this one based on the reviews, and I'm glad I did. The tone of this is so much more pleasant than other wind chimes. I live in the desert where it's windy a lot, so I hear it all the time, and it doesn't get on my nerves. It's also very pretty. I got this to hang in front of my patio, along with a couple of wind spinners, to discourage birds from flying into our large window. We've had two doves fly in hard and die. This has movement that keeps the birds away, but it's substantial enough that it doesn't blow all over in higher winds or get tangled. It's actually so much nicer than I expected for the price I paid. What a great deal on a really perfect wind chime.

I got this for a friend's birthday. She happens to love wind chimes and has a large collection. It almost didn't arrive on time, Prime not being what it used to be, but I was able to give it to her yesterday, she hung it up near her front door (it's really large), and since there was a nice wind, we sat and listened to it for half an hour. It sounds kind of like a xylophone, it's gorgeous to look at, and it was quite a hit. Hand made in Bali. One star off for the shipping issues.

Love my new windchimes! They sound exactly like I was hoping, very soothing bamboo sounds. Looks to be well made. Great product! Mine is hanging under a covered porch so we’ll see how well it holds up to weather. Only had a couple weeks now, but great so far!

So much more than I expected. It’s large and nicely made. Wasn’t tangled came very well packaged. Has a nice sound, not the tinkle of metal wind chimes, but a different sound, hard to describe. I love the sound of metal chimes, but our houses are close together and I’m afraid my neighbors might not appreciate them as much as me. The “chimes” are hollow wood, when they hit together they have a rich sound perhaps they will be non offensive to the neighbors, we’ll see. I might by another one.
