Do they all show up damaged??????
I have bought not 1 not 2 but 3 of these from Amazon. I know "Fool me one time bla bla bla" but seriously? All three units have been damaged on arrival. The picture I uploaded of the shipping box (pic 2) is the only sign of damage on the box and other than that it shows up looking like it shipped safely. Once you open it up and start to inspect it if your luck is anything like mine you will find a bent lid which also causes the lid clamp to be bent to the point of no longer sealing the lid, rendering the distilling option useless without modification (which I'm sure will void the warranty). You literally can not remove or replace the ball valve on the bottom of the unit without voiding said warranty. If you look at the dents they seem to be caused by the clamps being pressed with great force against the edge of the lid. The clamp that caused the dent will be very loose when clamping the lid down compared to the others. You can't miss it.The first and second one I bought was the 'without pump' option. The first one even had the AC cord restraint removed see picture 6.The second 'no pump' showed up looking awesome. No dents, nothing bent the cord was secured and then I pulled the grain basket out... The feet would not match to the lip ring no matter how I turned or tilted it. Away she went back to Amazon. After returning the second 'no pump' option I thought "Hey maybe the 'with pump' option will have more shipping protection. Wrong! Same issues as the first one only now I also have a bent in heat exhaust vent (pic 3) and the stand offs for the pump return is bent to the point that I cannot couple the circulation arm to the ball valve (pic 1).I've brewed on Series 1 and Series 2 and have to say they are a good value if you can get one they way it was intended. Super easy to brew with and cleanup is very quick.I have no idea if they showed up at Williams Brewing this way or if they got screwed up on the way to my house. If Williams is reading this I would spot check a few to see how they fair. This is a secondary system for me just to brew on when the weather isn't cooperating I usually brew outdoors on a 3 vessel system.
