Q: Perhaps a stupid question / but does this still work well for a tv i want to put outdoors but on its stand, not mounted? 55” samsung.

This would cover the TV. The back mount access is a velcro flap that you would just leave closed. Only problem I see is that the bottom is also covered so you may have to modify the flap slightly to fit around any stand or legs.
