These books are ridiculous, hilarious, chaotic and, absolutely a whole heap of fun. Bree is great character. I identify with her far more than most main characters these days. The only difference being, I no longer try and hold back my swears. Lol. I'm surprised at the turn she's taken in her attitudes about some of the characters, but I am also wholeheartedly for those changes. Good on her.

Again absolutely brilliant read. Heartbroken to semi loose some characters but happy to welcome new ones.. More twists and plot turns to keep you on the edge and not have a clue what is going to happen or who is going to betray who. Can’t wait for next in series so please hurry…..

Midlife witch hunter...Dives right in with a Crash! More specifically, Crash. The guy I was so peed off with in the last book! I loved the direction of this book being told in different view points. Crash starts off by giving a much needed explanation and glimpse into his actions. Then the plot thickens and I am team Crash again! Those that have been on the journey of reading this series will know that you're either Team Robert or Team Crash!Bree is really starting to evolve and find herself with the help of her friends- especially the ever so insightful Eric. We all need a psychiatrist friend who can bake! Shannon has a real talent in making me envious of not having friends like these in real life!The weaving of new and old characters, some friend and foe is beautifully crafted. Very much a concept of nothing is black and white but grey. As usual, I laughed, shouted, Cursed and cried. This series truly is brilliant and I dare say the best in the new trend of midlife women stories that have recently popped up. I am desperately wanting more if Bree!

Midlife Witch Hunter (Forty Proof #6)Another excellent addition to this fantastic series.👍I really liked the new characters, especially Remy. It was fun having it mostly set in Paris, France. There are some big losses for Bree and her crew in this book. as always humour offsets the sad times perfectly. The story is all woven together so intricately it's mind blowing! I honestly don't know how the author keeps everything straight.😳As always, I highly recommend this series. I look forward to the next addition in the Forty Proof series.😍Debbie, 1970, UK

Oh gawd! I. Did. Not. Want. This. Book. To . End 🤷🏼‍♀️I wholeheartedly agree with all the other 5 star reviews. This series not only gets under your skin, it seeps into your heart and soul. I’m living every moment along with Bree and her fabulous team. I cried with her, laughed with her and was routing for her all the way through the twists, turns, losses and gains this chapter in her journey brought. Shannon, I adore the way your mind works and I adore your writing. I know it’s not realistic, but I don’t want this series to end, ever, love it so much 😁 It’s going to be a looooong wait until August!

This instalment is right back on track with the non stop action, drama from all different angles with many twists and turns. Bree is starting to manage her abilities so much better. Crash's story is explained at the beginning. I really want Crash and Bree to get it together, even though Remy is now on the scene.

Whilst Bree is doomed to deal with double crossing men, the characters are interesting, the action frequent and storyline consistent. It is engrossing and an enjoyable addition to the series.

The adventure never stops, you barely take a breath before the next drama happens. The action follows on from the last book and it's good to have Crash's story explained at the start. I had to read it in one go as I couldn't put it down. I love the strength of character that Ms Mayer gives to Bree and the way she weaves the friendships with her writing makes it all seem so real. I wish I was there helping.If this is your first look at this series then back up and start at number one... you'll be glad you did.
