Exploring Art Song Lyrics: Translation and Pronunciation of the Italian, German & French Repertoire

An excellent compilation of favourite songs in various languages - along with ipa and translations. My only quibble is that the German texts do not reflect the new spelling introduced during the last decade which aimed to make pronunciation/spelling easier and more logical. I hope that this will be remedied in the next edition.

This great work is a revelation. It has given me and my musical friends a lot to share about, and talk about. We enjoy very much just reviewing the songs, as well as correcting our pronuntiation for the songs. The fact that we -as Spanish speaking natives- can understand the songs, and also sing them correctly is of the most value. I like the paper in which they printed it, the easiness to open in any page, and the way to locate by author, or by language, I found it very useful. I also bought a second one and gave a gift.

After an instructor introduced me to this text in my Diction I course, I immediately purchased it and have referenced it countless times over the past two years of collegiate voice study. Highly recommend this text to my peers and have yet to hear a negative remark from anyone about it. If you're an aspiring classical singer, this is a must-have for your library.

This is a fantastic resource for any singer of any level. Everything is all right at your fingertips for reference.

Oh my god this book has all the IPA and English translation for pretty much any art song that you will work on. It helps so much and the first thing i check for when I get a new piece is if this book has it in there. Its sooooo helpful!!!
