What a roller coaster!
But in a good way. Helen and Theo did not have an easy time of it. She was hard, soft, and full of sass. Partially because that's who she is, but also due to her circumstances. Helen was a boss lady and I'd love to know her in real life. She protected herself and definitely made Theo work for it (as he should've). I really loved them together. Great story!

Oh my I really loved this book! Theo and Helen both grew up hard and poor. I will not review this book because I have a hard time putting my feeling into words. Just know that this is a really good book and I read it in about three hours. Thank you!

4 stars
This was a solid read for me. I absolutely adored Helen. It was a little one-dimensional though. Helen and Theo basically only hung out with each other. Theo literally didn’t have any friends. I would have liked to have seen more friendship between Zadie, Elena and Helen or gotten more than a glimpse of Helen’s friends from home. The relationship definitely took the foreground of this story, with everything else being pretty insignificant. I loved that Helen knew her worth and straight up said that she was too good for him. She was.

Storyline is amazing but the book’s quality is meh
I’m loving the story so far, I’m a few chapters in and loving everything, but I’ve noticed that the book itself is where it gets weird. I’ve noticed that so far 2 of my pages have just fallen out into my hand, it’s not too hard to put them enough into the spine to hold them in place but I have to be extra careful with this book compared to other books I own. As a book worm it hurts when I see people puppy dog ear corners of pages and to have the knowledge of pages of my book just falling out makes me sad. I highly recommend this book, just don’t tug on the pages, gently read it. My method of holding the page when I get the right side is going to have to be kicked out, but I’m loving this book. 10/10 you should buy this!!

Soft Like Thunder is a remarkable start to the Savage U series.
Soft Like Thunder is a remarkable start to the Savage U series. If you've read The Savage Crew, you've probably been intrigued by Hells (Helen) since she was introduced, and I'll tell you that whatever you've imagined about her is only a fraction of who she is.Helen is more of a BA than I expected; she's fiery and driven, determined to do whatever it takes to become the person her dear friend saw in her, and she's not going to let anyone stand in her way. She had so many different sides to her, and each one was as admirable as the next.Theo wasn't what he seemed to be; he wasn't a frat boy with a silver spoon in his mouth. He portrayed himself in a way that was meant to help him survive. Not to say he wasn't as arrogant as some of the frat boys he was surrounded by; he was, and he pulled it off with ease. He could go from protective gentleman to hot AF alpha in the blink of an eye, and from sweet to dillwad in the blink of an eye. Which left me wanting to hug him one page, and borrow "batty" the next.Theo and Helen's lives were in the crosshairs of a storm, and they were each other's safe haven. Their chemistry was fiercely passionate, and as a result, the good times were heaven and the bad times were hell, but they were still one another's safe place at all times, even when they didn’t want that to be the case.My feels weren’t prepared for Theo and Helen’s story. Both of them had pasts that left scars, not physically, but the ones that make you guard your heart to prevent any more hurt, and feed thoughts in your head that make you believe things that are far from the truth. There were times their anguish was so palpable that I didn’t realize I was crying until the tears began to fall. From start to finish, Soft Like Thunder is nothing short of enthralling. Soul-searing chemistry, a swoony(ish) alpha-hole(ish) hero (he's complicated, dude), a BA heroine, witty banter, rapt with angst, and blazing steam. I can't wait to spend more time immersed in the world of Savage U.

Should be labeled Young Adult
1/2 way through the audible version of this book, I wished the trailer would have indicated it was a YA book because I just did not enjoy the equivalent of high school lingo. I'm not a fan of "dude" and "bruh", which essentially ruined the story for me. Add in the MFC is a "skater", yes as in skateboard, and her sexual history includes male "buddies" as in super casual and oh yea, she is a stripper (forced due to finances) and I just could not identify. However, I deeply resonated with the love she had for her younger sister and absolutely loved the epilogue. Probably still won't buy anymore in this series as I think it is too "young" for me to fully enjoy. Just my opinion.

Soft Like Thunder
Helen and Theo are so sweet together. Helen has had a tough life living with an alcoholic and addict of a mother and younger sister she must take care of. A chance encounter with two strangers turns her life upside. First she meets Theo and his "friends" Deacon and Daniel. When they walk into Helen's skate shop she is all sass and vinegar and puts Deacon and Daniel in their place. Later she meets Madelyn who gives her life new hope. Helen enrolls at Savage U and Theo can't keep his hands or mind to himself. Their relationship has it's rocky moments but overall it was sexy and sweet. Helen is strong and stubborn but Theo breaks down her walls. I wouldn't classify this book as "dark" does have violence but not between fmc and mmc.

Appreciated the read
Time well spent. Writing was great. Storyline enough. Badass FMC is absolute love. Only thing keeping from a 5 star read was the limited spicy, that’s not saying what we are given isn’t top notch though.

Another great read 😁
This book gave me all the feels, I loved Helen and Theo together. Hells is a bad a$$, the perfect kind of bestie, tough on the outside and soft on the inside with a plan to improve her life with the opportunity she has been given. Theo was a dichotomy i enjoyed discovering more about as the story progessed. I loved hearing about Madeleine and how she changed Helen's life. Life wasn't easy but Helen overcame her challenges as did Theo. The side characters were also interesting, I can't wait to read more about Zadie, Lachlan and Elena. This story has become my 2nd favourite after Bash and Grace and well worth the read. So glad i discovered this author.

Love Helen & Theo!!
I love Theodore and Helen!!This is a college romance, no bullying involved, just two people who like each other but there's a lot holding them back from each other. It's nowhere near straightforward, the circumstances surrounding them, the past chasing them and the present full of obstacles! It had the edge of difference that it's Helen that is the bada$$. Dealing, in with the wrong crowd, etc, although it's not her fault! I adore her original crowd - who actually have their own series, I've not read it but I most definitely will be!!Anyway, a good read, really enjoyed it, adore Helen & Theo and I could easily read more on them!!

Breath stealing
Loved this book, great characters and beautifully written. I loved Gabe but Theo has stolen top spot with his treatment of Helen and his self awareness, taking control of his life to earn their love. Truly a rollercoaster if a read and worth every breath stealing moment.
