Wonderful read
Read this and you will understand why Munro got both the Nobel and Booker. She is able to pinpoint human emotion and bring out idiosyncrasies without being overly dramatic. I think what Virginia Woolf said of Austen, 'For a great writer, she was the most difficult to catch in the act of greatness,' is particularly true of Munro too. In the stories, you forget she is there, but the characters' oddities remain with you. Subtle, and wonderfully written.

Outstanding
Alice Munro is one of the greatest living writers, in my opinion. Her stories are constantly surprising, even startling, but always remain full of extraordinary insights into human behaviour.

As always, Alice Munro draws the reader into the characters and the story right from the first few sentences. I'm not usually a fan of short stories because of always feeling like you want more after investing into the lives of the characters. But somehow her stories leave you feeling fulfilled and satisfied after only a few bites! Short story magic.

All or nothing
This book was different from all the others that I read from her. Some stories were incredibly dark with conclusions rather difficult to digest, others presented themselves light & fluffy with apathetic finales. I loved each surprise. But I'm undoubtedly grateful for Sophia Kowalevsky's story. Poignant, inspiring & beautiful. Enchanting writing all the way.

Gran libro
Una buena obra a buen precio. Lo recomiendo a todas aquellas personas a las que les guste la literatura con un toque más. No leer por leer, sino leer por aprender, descubrir y experimentar.
