Super!
Emily Gunnis is a name you need to remember. She pens beautifully for us readers and gradually entices us in.It’s an ancient tale.Past.Present.Two families, Hilton family and James family both involved with Yew Tree Manor. How can the past hold the key to the future? It’s an astonishingly good book, heartbreaking and full of the thrills of suspension, anticipation and what is to be uncovered.Totally heart pounding.Enjoyed every minute.

A gripping & emotional roller-coaster of a read.
I hadn't read any books by this author previously but it sounded like just my sort of book and basically that was true. I really enjoy reading dual time line books but the multiple time lines in this book caused some confusion at first. The family trees at the at the beginning of the book came in handy here - and I found myself referring to them frequently during the early chapters. With many characters belonging to just two families I found it difficult to remember who was who in the early stages.Once I got to know the characters better I began to enjoy the book a lot more. The problems for the modern day characters can all be traced back to an event that happened in 1946 - a tragedy took place which resulted in two families being bitter enemies throughout the generations. History starts to repeat itself and culminated in an exciting climax .After a wobbly start, I really enjoyed this book and am now keen to read further books by this author. I gave the book four stars because of the confusion I felt whilst reading the early chapters. I almost gave up at one point - I'm glad that I didn't!

Gripping with suspense. 5☆☆☆☆☆+
One of the best books I have ever read. I don't usually read fiction as I can predict the story after the first chapter and get bored. However A Midwives secret, has me hooked from beginning to end. Expertly written, I did not want the book to end.

The Midwife's Secret is an unputdownable book that grips you from the beginning. Be prepared for plenty of tears throughout, right to the end.

Wonderful story set over different times.
Really enjoyed this book. Lots of characters with different personalities that come to life in the page.. I love books which span historical times through to modem day. This would make an excellent screen play.
