No Playstation Should Be Without These!
Logitech is a well respected name in computer input devices. They make some excellent wireless keyboards and mice and also make a pretty good web camera. When we purchased a very large television for our living room I didn't want my children sitting so close to it while playing games on their Playstation. However, the cord of the standard Sony controller is not very long so they did not have much choice. This is not to mention the tripping hazzard of having cords drapped from the entertainment center across the floor. Therefore I decided that it was time to step up to wireless controllers. There are many different types and brands of wireless Playstation 2 controllers. Many of them look really cool, with fancy paint schemes. When I searched Amazon and sorted the listing by ratings (highest to lowest) I found the Logitech Cordless Action Controller right away. Sure it doesn't look quite as fancy as some of the others but it looked well designed and it received rave reviews. I ordered up a couple of them and dicided to give them a shot. Much to the delight of myself and my children these controllers were flawlessly. The kids can now sit far away from the Playstation 2 console and not have to worry about the restrictions (and hazzards) of cords. I was a little worried about two of the same model controller interfering with each other but this is not the case at all. They are extremely easy to install and work without any fuss or extra configuration. They are a bit heavier than the basic wired controllers but much of this is due to the weight of the batteries. The rumble feature works very well and the overall battery life of these controllers is suprisingly awesome. We have had our first set of controllers for roughly a year now and I can only remember changing the batteries about 2 or 3 times (and my kids use them daily). The button layout is the same as the standard Sony controllers so there is not learning curve for the children to go through when using these Logitech controllers for the first time. We have since added two other Playstation 2 consoles in our home; one in the downstairs family room and one in my oldest daughter's bedroom. We purchased another pair of these Logitech cordless controllers for each of the new Playstation 2 systems. They all work just as good as the first pair we purchased. There is no interferance between controllers whatsoever. Someone told me that their 2.4 GHz cordless telephone sometimes caused problems with their set of Logitech controllers. I guess I can understand how this could happen but my home uses 5.8 GHz phones so we don't have this problem to worry about. I think that anyone who is looking for a well built, reliable cordless controller for their Playstation caming console should look no further that the Cordless Action Controller by Logitech. My kids have dropped them and stepped on them but the controllers still work perfectly fine. It sure is nice not having cords laying across the floor in my house anymore. Oh, and I have since purchase a USB cordless Logitech controller for our computer as well: Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 with Vibration Feedback (963326-0403). It works just as well as the Logitech Playstation 2 controllers. =o)

Best wireless controller EVER. Heck, best PS2 controller.
Buy this.I guess I should elaborate since I do have 1000 words to work with, but the basic point is this controller is awesome. If you're like many people and wanted a wireless controller for your PS2 but were scared of the brick and a half sized previous Logitech controller, fear not. This is the smaller, cheaper, and better little brother of the monster wireless. It's VERY comfortable. I'd almost say I enjoy it more than the original. While it's basically identical in size, I prefer the curves a bit more to the PS2's original harder angles. If you have some kind of silly infatuation with the Dual Shock though, it's not like you will be let down, it's a very small deviation from the standard. And for the first time that I've experienced with a third party controller, this thing doesn't feel like plastic you'd find in most dollar-store products. It's sturdy, has weight, and the sticks and buttons feel awesome. Sticks are SLIGHTLY less rigid than the DS2, but they're more firm than the DS1 if that helps. After 2 weeks my batteries with rumble are still working just fine, so it's not like after 10 hours this thing's asking for more juice.Just buy this thing already, you shouldn't even be reading this far. It's the best wireless controller EVER. Yes, even better than the Wavebird since they didn't skimp on the two-way transmission - meaning this controller has rumble (don't buy Nintendo's BS about battery life, they just made it transmit one-way). Rumble is good, it passed the rez test.D-pad is kinda disc shaped but strangely it works VERY well. If the original DS2 D-pad was 100, I'd give this in the 90s easily, which is about 50 points higher than any other 3rd party D-pad.Like most of logitech's products, it's even licensed by Sony. But that's sony, they're followers, not leaders, though we never should've been without good wireless for this long.

Great controller...if you can get it to work.
Everywhere you look, there are reviews praising this wireless controller as being the best on the market and that's probably true, if and when it finally works. What good is a wireless controller if it doesn't sync up with the receiver? That's the problem with the logitech Playstation 2 Cordless Action Controller, it doesn't sync with its own receiver making it nothing more than an overpriced, plastic paperweight. At first I thought it have just been that the one I bought was a defect or something but as I looked online for troubleshooting tips on the issue I found that other people have had the same problem. If you want to gamble your money on a "great" wireless controller that most likely won't even work, then look no further.

good but buttons stick
We have tried several other brands of cordless and this is the best for staying connected and working all the time. But after using for about 9 months the x button starts to stick. This is the second one to do this. Took the first one apart and found the silicone pad under the buttons crack and does pop back up you can turn it around but then the triangle button stick. tried to get a new silicone pad even contacted logitech, said parts are not availible. Its a shame to throw away a $40.00 controller for a .20 cent part. If someone knows where to get parts I would Like to Know.

A great Logitech product at a great price
I have used and been impressed by Logitech products for years, and the Action Controller is no exception. The controller is larger than your wired controller, but not objectionably so. the range is excellent and the battery life is quite good. I have used it for several hours on a few different games and the thing performs as well as my wired controllers. I see no lag in action, and I completely forget I am using a wireless controller when I play the games. That is one of the touchstones I use for wireless devices: do they function well enough that you don't have to make accommodations and do they "disappear" when in use.
