I loved this book!Having never had the chance to meet General Gowans in person, I felt I met him face to face in these pages.An easy read written by this gentle man of God, that nevertheless pulls no punches.

A very moving account of the life of a very gifted man. He started from very humble beginnings to become a General, the hightest rank in the Salvation Army.

This was an interesting book, but I would have liked more information on when God spoke to General John Gowans to ask him to give his life to Jesus. John Gowans was a wonderful man and his musical works are inspired by the Spirit.

This is an excellent book full of stories of his life showing what a kind, loving and compassionate person he was.
