Not my cup of tea
To be fair, my son age 8 loved the book - no one else did. This book was part of my son's suggested alphabet reading. It was not available at the local library or throughout the county library system, so we bought it on amazon. The book was not worth buying. It was supposed to be funny, but just did not make me laugh. In fact, a few pages were disturbing - A snake having swallowed multiple animals... which kids could imagine were their pets. A jaguar that looks like its going to eat the main character. A sloth that could not be bothered to answer the anteater. I guess you could use the book to teach about how easily it can be to come to wrong conclusions... and how we need to make sure we make sure we make accurate conclusions... that is a really good conversation to have actually. But overall, it was not a good buy for us - better to have library borrowed. If you are looking for a letter A book to buy, we prefer The Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall.

Absolutely fun story
Fun story with a surprise ending that made me laugh. Bought to read with my son after reading it with my students at work.

A terrifying page
I have two other books from this author and love reading them to my 4-year-old son. But this one starts out great until you get to the page with the gigantic terrifying snake. I wish children's authors would avoid using such a character.

Boring
Extremely boring book. I typically love Ross Collins’ books so I was really surprised. I returned it.
