Lumex Everyday Hip Chair with Adjustable Footrest, Blue Ridge, GF4405427

My Dad has a hard time pulling himself from a regular kitchen chair. We paired this chair with an overbed table. It is the perfect set up for allowing him to join us in the kitchen. He is 6' and weighs 170 pounds. He says the chair is comfortable and he often sits in it while we are cooking or cleaning up after a meal. When he is ready to get up, we pull the table away replacing it with his walker. One of us stands by only as a safety precaution but he can get up and down by himself.This set up may not work in a small room. We actually turn the table and chair sideways. Alternatively, we could have taken a couple leaves out of the table.Having this chair and overbed table means a great deal to our family. It allows Dad to join us easily and often without worrying how to get back up.

This chair allows you to just back into it with no bending…just what you need after hip replacement surgery! You can exit the chair with the same ease.It was expensive at $308 plus tax but Amazon had the lowest price because of the cost of shipping. This chair is a behemoth & would have to ship via freight.If you are long in the torso (tall from the waist up), you’ll have to lean over to use the armrests but this is the only downside I can see. It’s not exactly a fashion statement but it gets the job done nicely!

Very easy to put together. It helps people with very little upper body strength get up from seated position. Also easier on caregivers backs, and to keep everyone balanced. It is a tall chair, but it works. Safety trumps style as we get older.........I'm not saying people with Alzheimer or Dementia will be thrilled with the change in seating but it will be safer for all parties and assist with mobility! I'm glad I ordered it for my mother, I wish we ordered it sooner.

Very heavy and bulky metal frame chair that says maximum weight is 350 pounds. Probably could hold a 1000 pounds. Not exactly something that blends in with the living room furniture, that you can leave in place after its not needed for hip rehab. Relatively uncomfortable to sit in and I feel the seat could have been larger. Many will need unpacking and help assembling. Can't really move it around easily. More like a chair designed to fit in with a hospital or rehab facility. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

Just received chair today and let me say. This is one of best constructed chair you can purchase. Seller contacted me and advised the blue upholstered chair wasn't available, but had a Rosewood color more like mauve color shade. Took some time because of hip to un-assembled chair since seat was installed upside down on purpose for shipping in carton, four long phillips screws need to be removed seat turned right side up and leg rest installed. Because of hip replacement it took longer then normal to do change overThe construction of chair along with thick cushioned upholstered seat and back is extremely well made.The price based on quality of product you cannot find a better value.It's a little heavy to move around. I may drill holes in to both bottom rear legs and install an aluminum rod through both legs to accommodate wheels for easier moveability around house.Tthis chair is built to last I will probably last longer then me.

Love this chair! I had a hip replacement, recently and this is the only chair I am able to sit in. I used it before surgery and 4 weeks post surgery i am still sitting in it as it is very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. The chair is very sturdy and heavy so it doesn't tip over. Highly recommend! Fast shipping and good communication from seller!

Very heavy. I do not recommend unless you can leave it in one spot as it is difficult to move. But if you want a sturdy chair and don't mind the weight, this is the chair for you!!

Chair arrived promptly and was just as described. After minor simple assembly of a couple of screws, it was ready to go. I purchased it for my 89 year old mother who has knee issues when getting up and down. This chair height is much easier for her to negotiate-she sits on it while eating and doing paperwork projects. My husband designed a "slide out towards her" tray to create the right height for her to eat and write while in this chair. It has made life easier for all of us. Thanks for the great product.
