A clever and interesting novel. Very funny. Thoughtful.
Very humorous with sharp insights into modern American culture. it is also interesting to compare it to the movie, "American Fiction" which was based on this novel. The movie gives a much different resolution to the story and comparing the two is a thoughtful exercise. Very entertaining.

Um livro mergulhado na cultura americana com seus valores, suas contradições e suas idiossincrasias. Obra crítica a respeito da cultura contemporânea, muito bem escrita. O protagonista vive situações e expõe pensamentos inusitados mas de forma divertida, ironica e muito bem humorada. Tive momentos de boas gargalhadas lendo o livro, gargalhadas que depois ficam dolorosas quando começamos a pensar sobre a realidade, as pressões e o momento cultural que nos circunda. Ótimo livro, recomendo muito.

Bissige Satire, die die Lektüre immer noch lohnt
Ein bissiger, entlarvender Roman mit klassischem Plot - mir war er fast etwas zu brav im Aufbau, aber immer noch sehr, sehr lesenswert und relevant. 4,5 Sterne.

Romanzo attualissimo, sarcastico e divertente
Una vera sorpresa! L'ho comprato per il film "American Fiction", ma, come spesso accade, il libro è ancora migliore. Un ritratto satirico del mondo intellettuale americano.
