Great fine mesh pool net / skimmer
I just recieved this pool net and tried it out. I usually buy a $40 metal frame one each year but decided to try this more affordable plastic one for a third of the price since my expensive one needs to be replaced yearly. This works well and the mesh is very fine which was what I was looking for. It works just as well as the $40 one but it is slightly smaller. For the price, it is well worth it. Maybe it will even last more than a year! So far, for the price of $14 it is well worth it. It's hard to find this fine mesh in stores and this does the trick. It sifts those little specs that are hard to get with the average skimmer.I saw a review that said it was hard to skim because the mesh was so fine and caught to much water, completely untrue for the one I recieved. I am guessing they are used to using the regular mesh (not fine). This one is typical for a fine mesh skimmer net, it does exactly what it is supposed to do, trust me, I have been skimming pools since I was a little kid. I find it relaxing to get every particle out of the water and this one works!

I use it for the horses water troughs
I use it without a long handle, just as it is, to skim the tree debris and any bugs that get into the water troughs.

I like it a lot
Minus one star for "weak". This is a very flexible, all-plastic skimmer for removing bugs and other small detritus from the pool. I like it a lot, and I use it most of the time, but it should not really be considered a "leaf" skimmer. That's because it is very flexible and it bends very easily, which is great for maneuvering to get small stuff off the bottom, but makes it impractical to lift anything heavy like bunches of wet leaves after a storm (or big fat frogs). If I need to do heavy work, I use the Pentair Rainbow No.126 Leaf Skimmer which has an aluminum frame and is very sturdy. The Pentair has the disadvantage that it is stiff and has rougher surfaces, as well as a thicker edge which requires more skill to get stuff off the bottom. So I worry about the damaging the pool liner using the Pentair. I don't worry at all with the SharkBlu, since it is very bendy and very smooth with a thin edge that makes bottom-scooping easy. It is impossible to exert much force against the liner even if you try, so it is idiot-proof. You can even safely hand it to a child or novice adult to "help out" -- as long as you don't let him/her telescope the pole. You can snap an extended pole pretty easily using a fine net like this, because the resistance moving it through the water is high.

Flimsy
Our current skimmer has a pretty hefty sized hole in the netting, so I decided to order a new one to replace it. I decided to order this SharkBlu brand pool skimmer, but unfortunately I am disappointed with my decision. The plastic feels flimsy and thin and this doesn't seem like it would last very long for skimming my 20x40' pool. I don't think I am going to return it, but I will keep it as a backup and attempt to sew up the hole in my existing skimmer since the plastic is more durable and the skimmer seems larger.

What can you say, it works!
It is hard to review this type of product. It is a bit like reviewing socks, they are either what you expect and work or don't. This skimmer works perfectly. It seems quite sturdy. The mesh is quite fine as well. I got this to use with a small portable Intex hot tub. This is the perfect size for me but, I can see that it would certainly be large and wide enough to use in a pool. The price was a good deal as well.

great customer service
My initial review is below.I am revising it because after my criticism the company contacted me and offered to send a new skimmer with a less- fine mesh- at no cost! And with no need to return the unsuitable one! That is a company that wants its customers satisfied.I wanted this to skim leaves off my pool cover. There are a couple inches of water on the cover from recent rain. However, the mesh is SO fine that water doesn't drain through it quickly. The skimmer acted more like a shovel, pushing the leaf-filled water away from it as I tried to lift it up. I would get a big clump of leaves on it, and when I lifted it up the water all sloshed out of it, along with most of the leaves.Very good, I guess, if you are concerned with skimming tiny, almost microscopic items from the pool. But not for my needs.

Not EZ button configuration
We purchased this skimmer 2 years ago and we've been very happy with that skimmer. One of the features we liked best is the 2 button EZ pole mount configuration, which makes the skimmer very easy to put on and take off the pole. After 2 years our original net is beginning to show some wear, so we decided to purchase a replacement. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that the new skimmer does not have the 2 button EZ mounting configuration as pictured on the Amazon webpage. As shown in the photo I provided, the skimmer has only one button. As a result, it is harder to remove from the pole than any skimmer we've used in the past. Very disappointing. We do really like everything about the skimmer we purchased 2 years ago. Besides doing a great job picking up debris on or near the surface, we especially like the way it can slide under debris on the bottom of the pool and the ease with which it can be attached to and removed from the pole. The new skimmer has all of the benefits of the old skimmer, with the exception of being more difficult to attach and much more difficult to remove from the pole.

Just right - Tank of a Pool Skimmer
First- excellent speed for shipping. Obviously this product is what it is and is as advertised. Shockingly, I have a pool. I have destroyed several other more expensive Leaf Skimmers, as they dry rot too quickly and snap when dropped, This little guy is a tank. Does its job, doesn't break and as an added bonus is great for trapping wasps for the old-flip-flop smash on the concrete. The net is the right size to skim the large verity of bugs out of the pool and attaches to any standard telescoping pool tool handle.I have had much more expensive models - but will stick with this one as the price is great and the product, being severely abused by its owner lasts and lasts.
