Must Read for Glass collectors
Reading London lampworkers was delightful in so many ways. Aside from the introduction to the fascinating history of these highly regarded lampworkers, the book also gave me a thorough understanding of the history of lampworking since 5th century B.C.It captured my imagination to where I couldn't put it down, from the beautiful photographs of the glass Pirelli, Bimini and Komaromy made, to the rich descriptions of how each of them developed their skills and studios.I found each story intriguing, and was delighted by the links to videos from the 1930s and 40s of these outstanding glass artists actually making some of their famous pieces. This would make a fabulous gift for anyone interested in glass figurines.I am looking forward to the next book in this trilogy with all of the detailed pictures to enable me to identify Pirelli glass.

Infectious Enthusiasm for this Glass Art.
Angela has produced the first of her trilogy on the amazing world of Lampworked Glass, focussing on Bimini, Pirelli and Komaromy, the 'London Lampworkers'.This is sensitively written with great knowledge of the history of the subject, and starts the process of identifying the different ways of ensuring the validity of any of these masterpieces you may posess or be considering purchasing.I say sensitively, because the love and affection she holds for this type of glass spills over into her writing and fills the reader / collector with enthusiasm. As the first of her trilogy, it is a taster of things to come, and I for one look forward with enthusiasm and a modicum of impatience for the next book.

A lot of useful information packed into a slim volume, well presented and beautiful images.
Wonderful. I am very impressed by the information, the delivery, and the tastes of these three great glass producers, included in this slim volume. I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the trilogy. Wonderful examples of the lampwork produced are also included in very well done photographs.

For true enthusiasts
An interesting overview of glassworkers. I appreciated the reference to the men who created the glass flowers and other models at Harvard and will look for more information on them. Otherwise this is a book for lampworking enthusiasts only and not for the general readership.
